Yeah that's basically it. The situation also is not normal, the sister is hung up on some intense past feelings, so our MC is also struggling to find a way to fix that. At the moment, she thinks acting as the older sister and being her replacement is the best way forward because she's a bit unsure of how our 2nd Lead really feels.

I think you're missing the point of that scene and the following hair dryer scene and are also taking scenes out of context.

Meguru wasn't really looking for jealousy; she was looking for a sign of love or deep affection from Kasane, which took the form of jealousy. She is disappointed that she sees no confirmation there, yes.

But then Kasane blushes just from Meguru's slight touch while having her hair dried. Clearly Kasane has strong enough feelings for her that something that quick would make her whole face and neck red, something she tried hiding from Meguru.

Meguru recognizes this. In response, she blushes and lovingly holds Kasane tight--because she gets the confirmation of Kasane's feelings that she was looking for. Meguru then takes the MASSIVE step of recognizing that Kasane is not her sister and still loving that anyway.

So the chapter setup one scene as a response to the previous scene. It's a positive moment that further confirms both of their feelings, even while still not solving the overarching issues.

After reading your response I went back and relooked at it and Yea I think the issue was that it completely flew over my head thx to

This moment, with Meguru calling Kasane onee-chan once again hence the blushing and all that stuff didn't click in my head with Meguru's reaction

So basically I was like Meguru wants Kasane to show love to her aka being jealous during that moment but didn't get that jealous response hence no love shown hence I was annoyed that Kasane still is acting the same way as usual

Then hair dryer scene Meguru see's the blush and hugs Kasane and I understood it as Meguru seeing a cute moment from Kasane but then Meguru says Onee-chan which made me feel like Oh Meguru is still in love with her older sister meaning everyone's still having the same issues and that blush didn't really matter
