I think they cut the face off of the mc, and put it on a cadaver. So I think when they introduce the twist, it's going to be mc all disfigured. I feel more phycological damage on fmc. It might be the tipping point that causes her to go scorch earth and kill everyone. Fmc killing that child was irredeemable, the author showed that on purpose, I just don't see a good ending for. I think Midori having a happy ending would soften the blow of what misery the author might possibly have instore for fmc.
