The next arc summary:
The Pope get killed during a robbery of the vault that holds items for summoning. The same items that summoned Cain’s past life parents, those got stolen. In order to select the new Pope, Cain goes incognito as an adventurer and under the request of the gods, he helps one particular clergyman become pope. Hinata also gets some attention and this arc helps with Hinata’s plans to marry Cain as they got stalled since the last time.

The arc after this is where the stolen summoning items come into play. Several teenagers from Earth are summoned as the new heroes. The Empire was responsible for the robbery and they summoned heroes to commit their plan to conquer the other kingdoms, starting with the Beastman kingdom. Cain involves himself in the conflict however he cannot fight on the frontline because he is still underaged. He goes as a healing mage. And yes he probably has a new princess who wants to marry him based on what was published.

The web novel stops here on indefinite hiatus. Light novel also went on hiatus, possibly axed.

There is a possibility that the manga continues the story instead of the novels. It seems it’s popular enough to have a few anthology comic volumes and another manga that seems to be about Cain’s crazy antics doing guild stuff.

I only can think of that manga where gods helps the MC to isekaied because one of their idiot god did make his life a living hell just for shit and giggles and they do feel bad about that so they help him. they did capture that god but not before he did screw up MC's arrival in the world somehow. but it is not this manga right?

Given the fact that the quality has careened off a cliff, not surprised that happened to the WN and LN, will the manga go the same way?

This one was popular enough that it had both a manga and anime adaptions. Although they pretty much made the anime one be family friendly that all the gore is gone and made Cain getting lectured a running joke.

There’s a different manga that is running into the same problem as this one. Novel version can first, then on indefinite hiatus/axed. Manga now approaching to where novels stopped. It might be possible that the manga became the more popular format for the series and are continuing the story that way.
