Misaki-kun wa Kouryaku Chara Janai

[vvelocity09]

i fucking love this, just absoltue psychological adorable bl peak, i fukcing love it it's so sweet but so sad

[stratosquir]

for some reason, i'm kinda expecting the story twist to be like, the game dosn't just end, it actually restart.

and only Hareta, as the MC, remembers it.
meaning each time he relive the same events but his love for Misaki prevent him from going after anyone else, so the game and story just keep looping back like a fucking curse.

hope it's not that, or that would be very tragic, or at least hope they get their good ending somehow.

Bộ rất hay hy vọng sẽ chăm ra chapter hơn!! Cũng như là sẽ mong bộ lên nổi hơn nữa và có thể ra cả dự án làm anime...

[Porg]

so does this have any payoff or do they just dick around forever

Bro this series is such a tease for interesting ideas. It feels like the mangaka is jingling keys in your face in the form of cool existentialism ideas, then just NEVER DOES ANYTHING WITH THEM. Fuck, I'm still mad about it. 37 chapters and not a GOD DAMN THING SINCE LIKE CHAPTER 5 UGH.

The romance is fine, I guess, but it's all things you've seen before in a series like this. How many times can you bring up not being a girl before it gets tiring? This manga intends to find out! Istg there's like a dozen entirely separate scenes of the best friend being embarrassed while trying on girl clothes with nothing else of substance to note.

If you want a story that flirts with the idea of nothing being real without meaningfully exploring the idea, then this is the manga for you, I guess.

6/10, I'll keep tabs with it and edit this if anything meaningful happens.

Also, you can see my descent into madness while reading this manga by looking in the comments of a bunch of these chapters, if that interests you.

Not currently with the 37 chapters out right now

How long will this be since the chapters have been getting closer to answering the question and the true meaning of the game

The premise of this manga is really interesting. Everyone knows they're in a game and what their roles are. Most people try to fulfill their roles. The fate of the entire world depends on the protagonist character choosing a heroine. If the protagonist doesn't choose a heroine, it's a bad end and the universe reboots, with everyone losing their memory and starting from scratch.

The problem is that the protagonist doesn't want to cooperate and insists that he loves the best friend, who he physically can't do anything romantic with (he can't touch him, he can't say certain things to him, etc. because the game rejects it).

The best friend works his ass off to try to get the protagonist to fall in love with one or more heroines, but nothing seems to work.

The various other characters approach their roles in different ways. The rival character doesn't want to be an asshole, but it's his fate to give the protagonist trouble. The teacher despises the fact that she's not a heroine and drinks to cope. It's apparent that at least some of the heroines are only chasing the protagonist because that's their role, not because they actually love him.

The crossdressing bit just seems like typical manga silliness - as of ch. 37 it doesn't affect the story. The best friend character isn't into it and it doesn't affect the protagonist's feelings, but it gives the heroines a way to tease the best friend.

If you're avoiding it because of the BL tag, give it a shot anyway. Unless you just can't stand the idea of a dude being in love with another dude, I guess. The protagonist doesn't seem to be into anybody except the best friend character, and the best friend character is basically asexual (although the protagonist is starting to give him complex feelings, apparently). It doesn't follow the normal BL tropes.

If someone handed you their phone or laptop and loaded up the first page without letting you see the tags, you would probably assume this is a normal manga until you really started to read it

It's a normal manga regardless.

This is what dessert is like!

[S-Reader]

How plentiful, looking at Misaki with the intention of getting married.... Well, it's seems impossible tho, might as well dreaming 'bout it.

[Sec_c]

Oh it's completed, guess I'll try to complete it too

[Unamused]

Read it all over the course of a single night, and it might honestly be one of my favorite romances out there.

[FITSFREE]
