Okay, it's getting a bit confusing again. But I believe this was somehow discussed before on previous chapters.

As far as I know, but I may need to back read again, there's this called "Red Fox", which we believe to be the mad scientist based from his behaviour. But if you recall the folklore from a previous chapter, the red fox escaped from the sea after the 1st king was defeated. So this chapter basically connected the missing dots of who the red fox is.

basically the chief of the red fox was broken hearted by the first king, which is why she betrayed him by basically used her unique magic to induce a berserk situation (which i feel like her unique skill going wild because of her jealousy) to the demon lord which basically the true first king and the sibling of the first king
But at the time there is two red fox which was close to the first king thought their reason is love (if you remember the professor said about two individual love its basically those two red fox thought i kinda forget the detail since its been more than a couple of chapter ago) and they got cursed for it

The red fox man (the one who betrayed the red fox chieftain because he fall in love with the fairy)
The red fox girl (also the one who betrayed the red fox chieftain because she fall in love with the red fox man)
from what i remembered that is all from the past character that has major impact for the story thought i'm not counting the first king children for it and some character because i forgot who is who

yeah what more even in the present there is many thing happened as well so i wouldn't be suprised because later on it will get a lot more confusing
