god I love love LOVE this manga!!! seeing people eat good food and leave with hearts as full as their stomachs makes me smile so much. I'm glad Sir Michel rediscovered his original passion for good food rather than status. his reactions were so fun to watch, my fave was prob the bit where he was thinking about the flavour of the ocean and started crying hehe.
thank you for the new chapter!!! also I might've commented it before, but I really like that y'all include info about what foods were referenced at the end of the chapter. I always enjoy reading those :>

Yeah, he said La Villon was making a big fuss over the curry udon, so it must be Gen.
The cousin briefly mentioned is also pretty certain to be the lady knight from Gen, Camille, even if she's drawn differently here. Due to having different translators, the surname is spelled differently here (Verdan vs Verdun), but it should be originally the same name.

I love that God just gently touches his shoulder to calm him down. Showing her power and benevolent.

I'm honestly surprised, an amazing single chapter character arc. I was not really feeling this guy for pretending to be dissatisfied with the Four Winged Lion's food just to make himself look more sophisticated. If food is good just say that it's good. This may be a deep cut but in Yakitate! Japan, Kirisaki told Kuroyanagi that a true Food Judge/Critic will never say that a good food is bad. I take that philosophy with me through all of these food manga to see who's a true gourmet and who's a pretender trying to and make themselves look better.

Who's that supposed to be? Camille is way more bratty. Take off the rose tinted glasses and look at reality uncle.

Hes quite the douche though. My Efa-chan gave half of her lunch and he didn't even give her a tip in return.

LOL, you say all that, but if Kirisaki's criteria is just to not lie, then the guy didn't do that. When asked directly if there's anything wrong with the food, he said no. All he did was make a grumpy face while eating, which yeah, might have made Ludwig nervous about it, but in the end he never outright falsely said the food was bad.
Sure, we know he was putting on airs here, but honestly, if I were the cook and got a guest like this, I'd just chalk it up as the guest being tired or just being in a bad mood.
