Japanese popular media evolves at a glacial pace, but it does evolve.I'm glad they didn't wimp out and gave us some real ass lesbians.
Seems a bit farfetched for an inn owner to be able to rig a nationally-prestigious contest like that. Thanks for the chapter.
Already don't like the mom. Specially if it's like someone guessed a couple chapters back and she rigged the competition against him.
I agree with the long hair but I disagree with them running the inn; that is not a happy ending.I also wasn't thinking about it before, but her old friend saying Makoto would look good with long hair feels like a setup so that the ending can feature a timeskip where she and Kippei are married and running the inn and she's grown her hair out to look more acceptably "womanly" because the universe (or just Japan) actually hates sexy tomboys.
Seems a bit farfetched for an inn owner to be able to rig a nationally-prestigious contest like that.
Idk if im just out of touch here but it kinda irks me that makoto felt the need to apologize. From the previous chapter it seems like risato is the one who completely cut contact and ghosted her. Makoto literally just confided in a friend who repeatedly denied any interest who was simply lying to her/hiding from her feelings.
Don't me wrong. I can understand why risato might feel like she was backed into a corner and was never really able to actually express herself, but none of that is on Makoto. I don't think makoto is wrong to feel bad about how it all ended up but this all really on risato and her hang ups. Cause from what we saw makoto was obviously shocked about the revelation but she didn't lash out or express really any negative emotion other than bewilderment. To me it just seems like Risato caught feelings, ended up resenting herself for those feelings then ghosting her best friend. Literally zero involvement from makoto here. Is it true to life? probably but I guess it just annoys me when characters apologize for shit they had nothing to do with.
Side note really cool to have Risato be a full on lesbian and none of that I grew out of that shit nonsense.
Yeah as i thought about it some more, It really is true to life for a teenager to replay this type of stuff over and over in their mind thinking of what was the correct answer to this and that. When in reality some times there just isn't a correct answer and shit is out of your hand. I guess my biggest gripe would be that makoto apologized first but risato is at least willing to admit that she was playing the victim so good on her for that.Makoto did nothing wrong! She shouldn't hold herself responsible for not reading Risato's feelings when she was explicitly hiding them.
That being said, I can understand replaying that scene in your head constantly for 7 years and imagining some scenario where you managed to fix everything and keep your best friend, and then being sorry you couldn't be that perfect version of yourself. Unreasonable, but understandable to me.
Haha, yeah, now that the latest chapter is out, that's egg on my face!Looks like she did. He was supposed to get silver.
