And for whatever reason he's been picked to be the FMC's fiance, after being kicked out of his ex-fiance's family, so that his ex-fiance's family can be tied together politically with the FMC's.

I admit I'm a bit lost on his entire situation, three chapters in. But maybe it'll eventually be explained.

No major spoilers, but i'll blur it just in case... None of the things you mentioned were actually explained in the WN. Even the so called incident is not clearly addressed. You can piece things together somehow (as i did in the spoilers on ch2), but it's still mostly left up to our imagination unfortunately.

I still didn't check the LN though, maybe they explained it a bit more there.

It could be I'm in the wrong for expecting some level of sense from wish-fulfillment manga like this, and the artist's depiction of the various heroines is flashy-enough that I suppose it should count for something.

The exact circumstances of this MC just seemed particularly nonsensical to me, unless I missed some key page of exposition when reading through the three available chapters.

But, Finnish (was confused why this was called a "Scandinavian Country" in the first chapter, but at least "Nordic" is used correctly in the title) Tsundere is the obvious draw of this title, so.

As for Sakurai Asuka, i had no idea she was a tomboy. Don't remember her being described like that in the WN, i think it was elegant, beautiful, things like that. I had a totally different design in my mind while reading it... But i approve of this one! Tomboy supremacy

True. It's just how she was described in the WN, i had a clear picture of her looking like a straight long haired girl with glasses. You can say like a generic "library girl" we get in almost every romcom...

But as i said, this is a welcome design "change" imo. I'll always root for the tomboy even if i know she is a losing heroine
