Yeah, it feels like there's something wrong, but it doesn't necessarily mean it's bad. With the time skip and some unexplained context, there is fertile ground for a lot of new story

Anyway, here's Wonderwall

I'm at a total loss, too.

The parameters of their relationship don't need to be the same as others', but FFS, they shouldn't be awkward...
Now that i think about it, they act like real roommates (not ironic "roommates") who broke up butjust sharing the same home for school. Hence the "did she bring in a girl" comment. If that's the case, her comment and keep mentioning roommates make perfect sense.

There's few narrative gimmicks I love more than a sudden time skip. Can't wait to see the other characters' glow ups.

I personally think the emphasis on "roommates" is just the author messing with us, but we will see.

I see them something along these lines a good thirty or forty years from now….https://www.instagram.com/reel/C9X8ronKC77/?igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==

Also, they might have an open relationship or some sort of agreement to be able to date separately for some reason we don’t know yet. There’s all kinds of ways to be in a loving relationship that doesn’t fit the dreamy model of marrying and forever in love with only your first love/kiss/romance.

Aya being a bit paranoid regarding Mitsuki and jumping to the scariest conclusion is pretty consistent with her character, both before and after they got together; I wouldn't take that "don't tell me she brought over another girl" as anything more than the set-up for a silly joke it ultimately was.

Wasn't expecting a time jump! I was expecting an ending.
(Not complaining if there is more... but let's see if this goes on).
I still think we are wrapping up.

This manga has had a generational fall-off.
Excellent premise and interesting first 50~ chapters.
Way too much silly drama for far too long.
The author caved in to bitter fans and decided to speed-run the sappiest, most inane relationship I've seen in a yuri manga.

Even Citrus had more emotional impact than this train wreck, but people will suck it down because all they want is escapism.

I'd be more worried it Mutsuki had given Aya a ring and they suddenly stopped showing her wearing it. As it is, I'm more inclined to put this up to the authors occasionally rough storytelling skills.

Still, with how long it took us to get to the actual yuri, it would certainly be an unnecessary level of drama to drop now, least of all with no explanation as to when and why they suddenly have broken up.

"Way too much silly drama for far too long."

Oh, I agree there. Though I don't necessarily blame the author for it. I've dropped so many yuri manga for having to constantly shoehorn in drama is actually disgusting. Between that and the Girls Love tag being filled with yuri bait (Still pissed at 'Budokan') or more toxic relationship entries (Citrus, NTR, Happy Sugar Life), it can be an actual nightmare finding good wholesome yuri sometimes. Thankfully there's always Kase-san to fall back on. Though even that author likes occasionally slipping in unnecessary levels of heavy drama.
