I kinda forgot because I haven't read this in awhile iirc dude goes on a world journey helping other countries because of some calamities happening or something. Girl is hurt and is in a state where only strong holy magic can fix her and so he goes to collect white stones for healing magic. But he needs to go into a specific dungeon and for that he needs blue stones I think because of the monsters in that dungeon. I forget but he basically is having fun and letting other countries rip him off despite his childhood friend being almost dead.

This info probably useless because the manga seems to be going a different direction. He never went to school for example. It was a dungeon company not school.

hmm, thanks for that. it kinda stupid how he literally sidetracked like that and being used without making them pay in the end, like even with edgy introductions MC always ended up as beta MC. like, what wrong with Japan? why they are so obsessed with that kind of MC and NTR genre?

im glad if manga really goes different route than novel

Spoiler: A little explanation

It primarily starts due to a misunderstanding - they see MC in a bigger, spookier monster form killing monsters, go "What the hell! That's scary!" and think he's a monster, so they try to kill him, but he then shapeshifts (due to a power he gets from a blaack dungeon monster) so they can't be sure if he's really himself. Also, the experimenting is because government officials are actively ignoring facts that make them kinda sad...

I've been reading the WN of this story on Kakuyomu... I think? It sure starts off the same as the manga, but instead of anyone joining the STI place, the main characters all join explorer companies.

MC can't get hired anywhere except a back alley shady joint with 3 employees (one of which is the boss's daughter)

Louie is scouted by the top company in the nation. Kaede gets invited in as well... Supposedly thanks to Louie.

So I'm caught up up with the WN. Other than how he gains his power and puts college on hold to be an explorer, the Manga has been going in a completely different direction from the WN.

and so far I think the WN's story is better.
