Do you mean Shirahama instead of Niibashi?
Yes! My brain is that of an old stoner.
If you do (and dw if so, I had to look up his name bc I forgot also 🥲) then I completely agree!!!
Reading your post was the thing that finally cleared up all of Shirahama’s strange behavior for me. I’ve been wondering what was up with him since he insisted on following sasamiya around to see if they were really together, and Shirahama having a crush on Miyano explains everything to me!!! So thank you for that haha
I don’t know why I never considered him liking Miyano before, but after rereading pt 1 of the cultural festival it’s become so obvious. He was so nervous around Miyano specifically and lowkey afraid of Sasaki the whole time as if he would confront him. I love sensei’s attention to detail and her ability to have multiple things happening in each panel, and I’m super curious to see where she takes this next
"He actually has a boyfriend, so that's not that funnymmmph?!"
"People hide that!"
"Are you hiding it?"
"No. I just don't like how much of a fuss people make about people knowing you're dating that I didn't say anything."
...
"If there are a lot of people they can't flirt and stuff."
Everyone else: "🤨"
"They do it all the time!"
"This is Sasaki-senpai, after all."
"It's not constant!"
"Huh. So things really are normal, then..."
Presses X to doubt for days straight no pun intended
Go back to volume 2
Shirahama and Tashiro are walking down the hall while Miyano is crouching in a fudanshi crash-out.
"Miyano has such a girly face that when he blushes you could get the wrong idea" (about what? Not clear)
"Huh? No. He's a guy."
Now, I think Tashiro may have been party A, and just saying "huh. You could take him for a girl if you didn't know better, huh?"
"Huh? No. I would never mistake a man for a woman."
It could be Shirahama being weird and Tashiro saying "Huh?" Because in volume 3 or 4 Tashiro says "He has a cute face, but he's still a guy!"
Because he's straight, not homophobic.
"What do guys do when they're dating? Are dates different from hanging with friends?"
"Well, normal stuff."
"Normal stuff... What do you do with your girlfriend?"
"Normal stuff"
"I don't have a girlfriend, so I don't know what that means!"
Wasn't meant to be as awkward as it was, and his reaction was the right one. "Got it. But what's normal stuff?"
