They mentioned way back at the start that people who fully awakened their Ghiosas wouldn't have their memories rewound by the regression; he's clearly awakened his, and clearly remembers her and what she did, and still loves her regardless.Okay, so either his attitude toward her may be because he knows that because of him, her life has been screwed by a cursed sword, or he remembers the first loop and somehow fell in love with the beautiful cursed swordswoman who killed him, or...
Hm, a loop she doesn't remember, where someone else ended up with the cursed sword, she was involved with him for some other reason, and maybe he turned back time? Perhaps he knows about that past future, and not about the one where she kills him?

He remember the past, though probably up until his own death.
My gut feeling say the crown prince is the one behind the whole thing.
The curse sword, the engagement AND the attempt assassination.
After all, everyone would assume it's the 2nd prince who's behind the assassination attempt, so regardless of whether it fails, crown prince can throw the blame at 2nd prince anyway.
In fact, maybe the mastermind even know of Yurien's feelings for Echi.
And that would be the factor that made them target Roaz instead of other families with similar condition.
If Yurien succeed in defeating the sword devil, he killed the girl he love.
If Yurien fail, the original plan go (subjugation squad after Azure Knight fell)
Might be, but i don't think your last point does not makes sense. If i remember correctly, she had no connection to Yurien in either life before her initial contact with the sword. Thus there would be no connection between them to serve as the deciding factor for giving the sword to the Roaz.
Ye, i fully agree with that they are in love with each other, or at the very least are attracted and that it happened during their first life. My point was that this happened because she got the sword, not the other way around. It was the sword that led to them meeting. They didn't interact directly, but the final note she wrote (continue to love him) suggest she's had a crush on him since the first life (we know she's been watching him from afar before the sword incident)
And on Yurien side, just look at the current event. He's clearly aware he's being targeted by the imperial family.
Would someone like him who's willing to sacrifice himself so she can live in peace be oblivious to the effect of trying to court her?
Not only would she become target of jealousy by other women aiming for him, but even more obvious target for the imperial family.
Even if it wasn't to the level of love, even a tiny amount of interest/affection is enough for the sort of petty evil mastermind to make her the target.
After all the OG plan is for Yurien to fail, the whole him winning but sadge from killing someone he's interested in was the backup option.
Making the sword target someone Yurien might hesitate to kill would up the chance of him losing due to hesitation (which he did, as seen when they subdued her. He clearly was hesitating on killing her and jump on the small hope when he saw her tears)

Those feelings could not be what led the mastermind to initially target the Roaz because at that point there was no such connection. And regarding her watching him from a far, for these kinds of stories and how it is described, Yurien would be the dream prince of all young women, in no way sepparating Echie from any other of her peers at that time.
While they could have met earlier as you say, that is not information we have been shown so far. My point is just that o do not see how the mastermind can use a relationship that does not exist to give the sword to the Roaz in the first life.As I said, just because they never interact directly doesn't mean there's not a feeling under. Yurien would be self-aware about his position and his enemies enough to not reach out and Echi felt the difference in their status was too great to do so on her side.
Just look back in ch 2 when they first fought, he had a hesitation '...' before agreeing the other should join the fight since it's a hunt, and that's before he saw her tears so he should be under the impression she's fully consumed at the time.
And even after they won, he was pinning her down, not killing her.
Also considering we've only been shown her as adult, there's always that possibility of 'surprise they met as a kid' so many series like to pull.

Yuriens hesitation to kill her could just as well be fueled by pity, or maybe even him seeing part of himself in her.
But in those NTR stories the characters have at least met each other, before she got the sword she had only seen him from afar. I don't she how anyone could draw anything from that.Again, it's not about actual relationship, the mastermind just need to know Yurien has shown interest somewhere/somehow.
Similar to how NTR stories doesn't need the two to be in actual relationship, just the POV char has feeling for the other person for that emotional damage.
Btw. if Yurien's hesitation is 'merely' out of pity as you claim, then feel free to speculate 'when' did he develop romantic feeling for Echi, because he's definitely struggling with that emotion enough to hesitate on accepting this engagement right now.

In regards to the feelings she went on a killing spree the second time after she had already been controlled for 4 years. I do not think we know how long her first spree lasted, but she was imprisoned for a lengthy period of time. And she was seemingly periodically visited by Yurien, that continued to hope for her to break free. So he might have grown fond of her during that time.
There is also the fact that she always kept his sword with her during her 9 year journey to turn back time. So he probably knows of her actions after her regaining control
Im not necessarily saying it is impossible for him to have developed feelings for her before the sword. Though that would simply be a kind of love at first sight and could have happened at any point up to where they fight. So you think the story never shown his POV before her going murderhobo = impossible he's had any feelings before, but somehow him visiting her as a crazed monster for days develop into love offscreen? Ok....

My main argument has always been from the point of how could the mastermind possibly know to use that knowledge to specifically target the Roaz. As inbelieve the targeting of the Roaz to be a coincidence or that the mastermind had some other reasoning, because i just do not see how they could know the prince has feelings for someone he never met.
