He is talking as if he isn't also literally just a kid lol
Was this a political marriage, I don't recall. It's taken for granted that they're the same age, but I guess it could have been a possibility that she might have been like 10 years older than him, in the case of a political marriage.

Casual reminder that magic is real in this series lol
Case in point, the charm for fated meetings, existence of kraken, possible Tengu, and divine magicks such as the ones committed by the fox envoys watching over Nobu and Gen whenever someone has hostile intent. Though, the one over at Gen seems more like a glutton and slacker if they aren’t guiding the odd patron.

It was 100% a political marriage. I remember Hildegarde was the Imperial Princess, but I don't remember Maximillian's title is.

Maximilian is a grandson of Conrad IV the former emperor if we take the translation error into account Maximilian title is His Imperial Highness while Hildegarde is a heir of some noble Family marriage into Imperial Family for Politic reason.

Love this manga, it doesn't openly show magic, but shows it more subtly. Of course the door in the bar that connects Japan to the other world is blatant magical in nature. But otherwise the author almost never openly show magic.

thnx for the chapter.

also a nice little reference to Lord Sandwich and Lord Shrewsbury. two English noblemen who invented a little snack during their game of Whist (old cardgame popular in the Victorian era)
