As shitty a situation as a dying grandma is, I admit I'm glad it was the plot point phone call - and not some text with blackmail or something from last chapter from a jilted ex or whathaveyou.

And it's a bit cliche, but the romance development angle that comes from a slapdash race to the grandma's bedside like this feels kind of appropriate for their situation. That's a deeply personal thing going on for her, so him being let into her life enough to encourage/convince her to go and see her grandmother before it's too late is a fairly significant step up from "come over for sex".

Agreed. It really says something that she feels more comfortable being around someone she barely knows who will have no expectations of her that allows her to be herself. She clearly went there for the sex as a distraction from her emotions. Why else would she cry as a release when she is told, hey I'm not your boyfriend or your friend you can just talk to me, it's chill. Like the expectation to have her shit together seems a lil high.

I will be annoyed if this turns into a harem unless it keeps the heavy interpersonal vibe going. I liked how this manga approached the random sex gimmick.

Joking aside, there's the hook. Manga is marked "romance" for a reason and this is where they begin to fall. It's feels like a typical set-up. But I'll take the guy just randomly plowing her ass despite knowing she's upset. That's anything but normal outside porn. xD
