i don’t remember for certain, but wasn’t she mostly unaware of the mistreatment? Or am I mixing this up with another manga?
Far as I know, the only mistreatment we actually see between the group + Dion in their "normal operation" is the guy(Segrit) yelling at Dion for potentially endangering them by healing a horse over them (in the first chap). Yuki steps in and tells Segrit to cool it, but also doesn't totally side with Dion since he was, in fact, choosing to save the horse instead of restoring their injuries before the dungeon attempt (but she also says that's what she likes about him). But we never really get any proof that there was any actual abuse going on between the party + Dion, because what their party was like just never really gets expanded on (we see the horse scene, we know the guildmaster already knew Segrit was a piece of shit, and we know Yuki was a slave picked up by Dion's father so they started adventuring together, but afaik not much more than that).

Nothing legitimately serious happens between Dion+Segrit until the start of the manga, where Segrit intentionally sets Yuki up with a teleportation trap to get her away as he tries to kill Dion. If there's anything to blame Yuki for it's for being deceived by whatever Segrit did/said to get her to let him join the party, but I don't think it's really fair to pin that on her when Dion was deceived by him just as much.

The punishment for attempted murder is a 'heart-felt' apology not even to the victim, pathetic.

At least imply that they could not get into trouble due to the lack of evidence and this causes Yuki to leave as a form of protest.

I'm sure I was being overly protective.
Keeping him in a party full of people who clearly despise him is "being overly protective"?
I want you to come back to our party. We need you.
After all this, not only did she stay with the people who tried murdering Dion, she even invited him back to the party with them? How fucking stupid is she? Segrit has "given her his heartfelt apology"? That's it? They tried to murder Dion, for fuck's sake. I genuinely can't tell whether everyone here is deliberately written to be a pathetic doormat, or if the author is one.

1. imo it depends on the specific type of baddie. Demon lord level threats and higher? Understandable if done right. Some scheming shmuck in the background? Unless you see the body, don't make assumptions. Petty little pricks like that guy whose role is to serve as nothing more than as an abusive prick? They last waaaaaay longer than they should and are a waste of plot armor. Ideally, they probably should just fade away and be forgotten about. I guess making them stick around makes for an easy narrative punching bag that gets absolutely reverse-fridged by the MC (as in, instead of making him angry it gives him catharsis/closure) but even though I like this story I will admit that seems a little lazy.

2. I know what wuxia is, but what's murim? Is it similar or is it something different?
Murim is martial arts world, on a way lower level than wuxia who is that but a more focus on cultivation

Yeah i cant help but dislike her, even just bringing them onto the team in the first place and letting the abuse go on for aslong as it did before it boiled over is crazy for a "friend".
I made this point before with Yuki but she didn't mean for this happen. She was so focused on Dion she didn't realize the animosity of the group and its obvious he didn't have a lot of confidence before so any abuse he did receive from the others he never spoke up about it and they covered up any trace of bully him from Yuki.

Let me guess, the antagonist leader of the former party will get some shady powers and try to kill MC. :nyoron:
While crying and screaming while getting beaten up after MC got stronger mid-fight. And that antagonist won't die either, prob survive because of plot armor / MC being too soft (as always) while still saying stuffs like "You just got lucky" "I'm better than you anyway", get jailed or exiled somewhere.

Its all so tiring bro 🥲

I am glad that the author didn't waste several chapters for Yuki to apologized sincerely to Dion about her part in his pain. Like I stated in previous chats, she sadly was responsible for what happened to Dion. So focused on him, she ignored the others and didn't notice how they all hated him. Just choosing teammates that could do the job without caring if they could work together and respect each other.
I am pretty sure when Yuki asked Dion to come back; she already knew his answer. Which is why she so quickly left her current party and went with Dion. It was pretty much giving them her final F-You since the only reason her party was S-rank was because of Yuki. Now they're probably barely B-rank. Her disrobing her armor was both a dramatic way to show her resolve in quitting her current team; and show Dion that she was not just his friend, but a woman with sexy slim body. With a nice rack for her body type.

Yeah she was unaware. It was mostly due to MC's self loathing like he just iterated this chapter. Him saying how he was useless and holding the party back. So he never told her since typical overly humble/spineless MC thing of "Oh they will just say nice things to placate me and not tell me the truth but deep down I know what they r actually thinking, im useless etc. etc."

Honestly, this is the one manga I hope the childhood friend wins over the new girl if they dont do a "we will share him" ending.

Yes Yuki certainly has faults. But IDK I just find her endearing. I also dont buy the whole "She has some blame due to being tricked by Segrit". From what I remember Segrit wasnt established to trick Yuki in the past. So its not like a "fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me" situation. Sure Yuki had the flaw of not caring or bothering to pay attention to people she had no interest in. But she seems to have learned her lesson and is genuinely remorseful. And was quick in apologizing and acknowledging the problem at hand. unlike that one Power fantasy with the guy with his gun skills where the FMC has the emotional intelligence of a rock and doesnt understand why a simple "im sorry" doesnt fix everything.

Dont get me wrong Eldora is great to. IDK she just isnt as endearing. Maybe since from what I remember she hasnt had any of her flaws revealed yet. Shes just suffering from the suspension bridge effect while also being Dion's fairy god mother of sorts. Being the one to grant Dion his wish so he can achieve his dream of standing next to Yuki. So to me shes not as relatable/"human" i guess? Maybe once we learn her backstory or see some character flaws maybe she will come out on top?

Side note. Man I love this art style. Very aggressive and unique. Cant wait for an official TL that is hopefully physical so I can see the art in print. Even if in smoll form since for some reason manga volumes r still small for the most part and we cant appreciate the art in its full glory.

Oh and I almost forgot, Thanks for the translation!

Similar to wuxia, but must based on the chinese martial art world, unlike wuxia which can be (and usually) completely fictional as long as it’s Chinese martial arts-themed. The term Murim is taken from Wulin, and is essentially the Korean version of the Jianghu genre from Chinese manhwa (same setting).

IIRC characteristics of a murim/jianghu story:
  • it’s always based in China, around the Tang or Song dynasty time range (medieval era)
  • it always has the major sects (Shaolin, Emei, Wudang, Mount Hua, Tang, Beggar’s)
  • The sects are always split into the orthodox and non-orthodox factions. Shaolin, Emei, Wudang, ang Mount Hua are always orthodox
  • Mongols are almost always the baddies.
  • The orthodox sects are not always the good guys. They’re just the “publicly righteous” sects. Non-orthodox sects aren’t always bloodthirsty, human-sacrificing, demon-worshipping savage heretics, but their actions are generally more morally questionable and not necessarily righteous (and thus “not orthodox”). Demonic sects are almost usually outright evil (unless MC is part of it or “demon” is used as an oft-misunderstood title)
  • The story only takes place in China and/or Mongolia, never going to Korea or Japan.
  • The martial arts are usually on a more earthly level. The powerful guys may be demigods, but they are always hurtable, and will get hurt.
  • There’s always a conspiracy that will derail the de facto, whether from the mongols, a random demonic sect, or just general scheming power-hungry scumbags that have infiltrated various factions like Templars from Assassin’s Creed.

That being said the one that actually apologized should have tipped you off a bit, to spoil what's actually going on with her, she's a guild informant (basically close to a spy) planted in yuki's party because something felt off about the other 2, more than just their dislike of dion, she couldn't interfere when they tried to kill him as she was deep undercover (look into actual informants, sometimes they have to witness or even take part in crimes to catch the bigger fish), they aren't going to get off scot free, but i don't know how long it will take.
What is she waiting for then? For them to try and murder other people? Is Dion not enough?
