A life without able to move herself? That... is indeed cruel for her.
The problem is it has augmented her, her entire life.
So her muscles never developed. Look at astronauts who have been on the space station. Do to the low gravity their muscles atrophy do to lack of use and they require rehab to rebuild them after they get back. She has effectively never used her muscles.

Simply the worst system ever invented, solely to keep the protagonist from progressing at all in 30 chapters. The guy is useless with a power he can't even control on his own, literally an automatic plot armor.
The author made this awful system even worse just to avoid giving him the Hero's power, only to keep him as a character with zero progression and maintain this "I'm weak, useless, but I have companions by my side" mentality. I hate protagonists who can't evolve while everyone else can.
