Falling out of love is really a big shakeup to anyone. I really don't see how the fiance can still regain her affection without any clear communication
Hard to see him communicating when all his friends keep telling him to let her do her own thing. Feels like he's realizing that she has no interest in him and his world whatsoever and her only interest is to move abroad.

Maybe having someone he believes is as bad or worse than he is will help him reflect a bit..?

Not that anyone wants Nicole to be stuck with him after all her efforts.

Seriously, fuck Keios. If they ultimately end up as anything more than cordial friends this author should be physically restrained from ever putting pen to paper again

the only way I would even halfway agree with, in terms of Nicole actually getting (back) together with Keios, is if he fully relinquishes his title and inheritance as a noble of that country, emigrates independently of her to Iliegale, doesn't get in the way of her studies or career prospects, and tries to court her as just a dude, basically from scratch, with none of the trappings of their initial circumstances.

Otherwise yeah. Can't say I'd be happy with him being included in her life otherwise.

Claude is such a jerk that he is making me slightly (close to 20%) root for Keios. Ugh.....

I can see Keios redeeming himself is if he supports Nicole in becoming her own person and job. Right now, he is only focusing in their marriage instead of Nicole as human being who has goals and dreams.

If they actually end up back together this story becomes a complete failure.
True but the WN already ended and the ending was a sort of open-ended one where she goes abroad and Keios tries to continue chasing her, but he really hasn’t made any progress. If that’s how the “prototype” ends I doubt the main story will end with the two hooking up. If the author had the intent to end the story that way they had the opportunity to do so and chose not to once already.

That’s the way I’m looking at it anyway. I’m reasonably confident the author won’t do that.

Keios once again proving why he deserves to fuck a cactus. Shallow compliments followed immediately by once again prioritizing his own happiness without a care given for what Nicole wants shows that hes still the same asshole, just with a fresh coat of paint

The thing that's pissing me off here is that the story is just going nowhere.

Does the story want her to migrate and become independent? Does it want them to get back together? Does it want a new ML for her? Cause none of these things are happening.

Fiance is still a selfish prick only thinking of saving their engagement and not her. MC didn't actually have any progress and rejects any kind gesture her fiance does. The new male character is engaged and is somewhat less worse than the fiance (and is already engaged to someone else).

The story, flow and pacing is so awkward. If its just a preview of a source material, it would've been better to end this a few chapters ago as an open ending.

Claude stocks went from bad to worse. I hope his fiancé isn't stuck chasing him eternally or trapped in a one-sided marriage.

I've seen enough hints that I don't think Nicole needs to end up in a relationship to close her arc. If she chooses to take a job and not focus on marriage that's a good ending.

People make mistakes all the time, as a girl, I hurt my exes unintentionally before. I don't think there is anyone who are free of guilt, never hurt a single soul ever in their life. If someone believes so, it's just they weren't aware of their own actions. If the ML put into effort and try to redeem himself, I think it's fine to forgive him, since forgiveness is a good virtue to have. Our modern society is full of people who always try to judge others so hard. One red flag and you're the unforgivable scum who deserve to never be happy again. This cancel culture is quite toxic, it also promotes the idea that people are replaceable, one mistake and you will get discarded, because there are plenty of fishes in the sea. It's sad to see this in the comment section here, as I believe the whole point of this story is about forgiveness and redemption. That's why there isn't a second male lead yet, the author really wants a redemption arc from our MLS.

Why not let that depend upon how it happens?

I can imagine ways where he finds a way to reach her, while agreeing to her be her own woman rather than the noble decoration she obviously isn't suited for. It requires quite a lot of growth on his part, but character growth is what a good story is about. Wait and see what he is like at the end of the story rather than staying locked on to what he was in the beginning.

I´ve always believed that they would end up together, not because i want that, but because that is the way most of these stories end up.

I´m really hoping for the "empowering" ending of her just going abroad to study with full intentions of staying there. They make this other kingdom as the best place according to our point of view, she would even have more rights/liberties, going there is the best choice, staying is pretty much being put in some sort of display case, a story that Keios will tell in the future about "that time my wife had... issues (because i was a self-centered prick, but that is beyond the point)".

I like this type of stories, because they are right in between "this sucks" and "this is good"

There is a dilemma in terms of story telling here. She just doesn't love him anymore or even considering it. This chapter cements it. But we just had couple of chapters from the retard's PoV showcasing his desperation as well. I'm still not convinced that them going their separate way in the end is a possibility. At best it will be her going and him going after her as some sort of sequel bait. But not a conclusive ending. It's like 2 routes going in parallel and since they can't exist together, it looks weird. Asking redemption for Keios is stupid because it will diminish what FMC wants to accomplish at this point. Why would he deserve a second chance? If they marry, it will only happen because she has to. Not because she wants to. Not according to this chapter.

Black haired tsundere dumbass is a non-factor after this chapter as well (because he has a loving fiancé already) so that route is also done which is good.
