Mizuho's about to get herself done like Suguha, but without the incest.

I don't know how this series ends, but this could totally end up with two or three corses and it wouldn't feel out of place at all. It's pretty strange because on the surface this is pretty fluffy with the rather friendly, standard manga character designs and everything. No violence, no gruesome psychological stuff, no clearly insane characters. Yet more and more girls are falling for Masato, ever deeper and deeper, with no way out. How could they all possibly cope successfully with the ultimate resolution of not every one of them being able to end up with him? The longer they all postpone confessing to him, the worse it will get. Masato himself won't ever notice anything wrong, so he will keep treating them like princesses (in a figurative, positive sense), unlike any other guy they could possibly encounter in that world.
if there's any death in this story, it'll be Masato's

his body will be reduced to a prune

This series gives me anxiety, feels like it could go from a pretty standard romcom to something truly fucked up at any moment.

I find myself bracing for impact every time I turn the page.

I've never been in love, so I have some trouble relating to these kinds of stories. I actually question if the phenomena truly exists.
I'm sorry to pry, but I'm curious. Do you feel other strong emotions or not? I myself suffer from anhedonia.

Have you ever seen an atom?

If you have not, do you believe they also do not exist?
It's perfectly resonable to not understand an emotion you have never felt. All we can do is see the way other people act. If you have never felt moved in the same way is it not resonable to think that they may be faking or exaggerating what they are feeling?

If everybody admires the emperor's new clothes but he appears naked to you, what would you think?

I personally think Mizuho's love is a bit forced, but it tracks. When she was in her lowest, what looked like her ideal man came to her rescue, then hurriedly leave when her feelings were on top of the wave. That made those feelings last longer. I like that the love the girls feel for Masato is somewhat understandable and not forced. Some live empty lives, others never knew love, there's the one he tutors that I genuinely think just admires Masato and that's it, others don't even see him for who he is, and just proyect him into this ideal version of him that checks all the things they like. The best of all of this? This is something that normal people do in the normal world, and we do it A LOT.

Funnily enough I think that Mizuho represents "love" the most. She knows she shouldn't shoot her shot, yet she can't just kill her feelings either. Without choosing, she just goes by, hoping for a miracle she knows won't come. THAT is love in a pure form. Koumi fearing Masato's reaction is also very realistic too. After all, in that world, Masato seems almost ideal in every way. He's young, athletic, has morals, ambitions, is outgoing, respects and cherishes her, man I'd say Masato would be popular in the real world too.

I like this series, I think it's a solid read worth analizing, even a little. Sadly it's quite late into the night right now, so my review might be a little messy. Nonetheless I didn't want to wait for tomorrow to read this. Anyhow, have a pleasant day, everyone!

Novel reader here. I forgot how much I liked Mizuho. We've got all 5 girls introduced, but unless the manga changes some things, #1 is an easy call.

Man, I seriously love this manga.

Back to Koumi & Mizuho after some time. It seems to me that guys in this world aren't really that athletic given that Koumi was concerned about the speed of the pitches.
Yeah, but I doubt it is a physical deficiency. He went into the 130km/h batting cage, and 130km/h is on the top end of pitching speed for a high school pitcher in our world, so if you're in a world where male baseball teams are rare because men are rare, then the skill ceiling would be lower. Sort of like how all the world's best LoL players are from South Korea, because that is the only country that treats it like an actual sport, not that South Koreans are inherently better at it.

Same. It hit me when I simply couldn't relate to a devastated roommate who's been dumped, other than suddenly feeling lucky for never having been afflicted with it.
so I have some trouble relating to these kinds of stories.
Ironically, I eventually ended up enjoying romance stories just fine, especially ones with thought bubbles containing detailed descriptions of feelings, worries, warmth, smells, closeness - I'd say this manga contains appealing nuances to its characters despite how tropey, silly and exploitative it is.
I understand that emotions are complicated feelings that affect us in strange ways and that's enough of an explanation for me.

Depending on what day she visits the boy's bar, it could end up in a blood bath. That's a certain yandere stalker's territory.

It wasn't really stated yet. But if there is a 1:5 gender ratio, wouldn't society drift towards polygamy anyway, even if the legal framework might be lagging behind? Mizuho you should just ally with your best friend, you need all the power you can get to keep Masato safe from yandere stalkers and little girls.

I dunno what you're reading because that onee-san at the bar is clearly off her rocker lol
Potentially, yes. But so far she hasn't actually yet done anything much. We haven't seen any concrete unrest in that society. Certainly not suggestions of extreme danger like in the 1:39 series, where males must be accompanied by guardians and are continuously warned about assaults and urged to stay home all the time. It's pretty peaceful in this one. So, there might be a whole lot of women like her, but in the end they end up doing nothing, despite mentally being pretty far out there already.

Just ask her if she's fine with a threesome Mizuho, theres a 50% chance Koumi more than happily accepts this, although there's also a 50% she kills you so :aquadrink:
Come on now, she's not Seira. Besides the most dangerous one isn't even either of those girls. It's the middle schooler. Since they at least ask for
