I think a more easy to understand comparison might be when compared to difference between Normal & Albinism.

Later on Kousuke and Sylphy with Grande transporting them back to the Black Forest will meet Grande's family after a rough meeting. They will go and visit her home and meet the rest of the Earth dragons and after it is reveal that Grande's in love with him and all the Elder dragons will power their power into that jewel and it will turn her into that anthro form. They(Elders) did mention that she might be able to in time switch between forms, but as of LN 8 she hasn't achieved it.

ZOMG, the hybrid wing/hands that is a staple of wyverns is still there!

I give - for now - a wyvern is a type of dragon anyways... still gonna bug me when the former isn't used.

Normal and Albinism is quite different than Dominance and Recessive because those topics are mostly for those who have "flawed genes" in their family tree while Dominance and Recessive is mostly used for taking the best gene for better results.
