I understand the authors thoughts regarding Lillie but those thoughts stem from the fact that the manga skipped the 5 books that set up the understanding that Carriers are weaker than every other class in almost all ways and fails to showcase the effort Sei put in to overcome those aspects. Instead we see him fully realized without understanding what it took for him to get there. Even then, in the books, at the point that he is at, he still has to measure every fight as potentially dangerous knowing the risks of fighting other classes. There are even times when he acknowledges that appraising certain people could be dangerous and waits for opportune times to do so. Here, he just kinda unga-bungas whatever is in front of him so we get that illusion of Carrier = Busted.
