I wonder how exactly do you become a witch? Like do you study magic so much you become immortal or do you initiate some sort of contract to become immortal for some tradeoffs. (Eli sleeping for months for example.)

"We had no choice" bandits are proper bandits, that's the number one reason why people historically turned to banditry
Yeah that's literally how people turn to banditry back in the day, bro said it like bandit is a job lmao :kek:

I mean, people in developed countries today resort to theft out of some sort of desperation, more often than not.

How do you have a negative survival instinct? Is that what living in Eden does to a child?
This is baseline child behavior. This is the kind of gas stove I grew up with as a kid, and my mom taught me "The pilot light in the middle is always on, so don't touch it because it's very hot." And I repeated "Always on, don't touch, very hot." at the same time that I reached up and touched it.

Yep.

Vio's literally a toddler. They absolutely have no survival instincts, and this depiction in the chapter is honestly pretty damn accurate, at least in all my experience around kids that age when I was doing caretaking and stuff.
If you don't literally tie them down, you'll find them two minutes later trying to swim in the fishtank or teach the cat how to swordfight with steak knives they inexplicably acquired from who-knows-where.

Fucking lunacy.

Yea but it's not the point, even then it's because they "have no choice" that we still have thief in this day and age, I'm just making jab at the guy saying
"I hope these are a proper bandits and not a sorry ass 'we had no choice' ones"
like what does "a proper bandit" even mean in their mind lol

sorry, I had written that prior response out and didn't complete my thought or go back to it - I was agreeing with you from the start.

I think I meant to include something like "maybe they hear "bandit" and just get Skyrim flashbacks and that's where "proper bandit" comes from for them"

Yeah, kids that age are a danger to themselves. One thing I learned from taking care of niece is that they have an insatiable hunger to learn so keeping them safe enough but not too much to hinder their growth is a difficult task.

the balance between those two things is infinitely fine, ever-changing, and both 100% worth the effort when it comes to the results while also being nerve-wracking and enraging for the entire stage of their life at that point.
