Is this guy just stupid? I understand wanting future generations to know about the seal so they can prepare in case it breaks, but why the hell would you tell them how to break it??? When would that ever be used for non-evil purposes??
Because if you know how the process works you can better keep an eye out for people trying to do it.

Isn't that some self-fulfilling prophecy though? Without it, no one would have known how to break it in the first place.

I get the idea behind leaving it to his friends to watch over it just in case some dipshit tries to do it. And it is a dick move to burn that even after his sacrifice. But why the fuck did he make it self-replicating, and make it so that it just reappears in a random book no one knows about (according to the next chapter).

I mean, he said it was most likely going to break no matter what anyways, and seeing as he made the thing that part was almost surely coming true anyways. So yeah, still better to potentially have control over it happening and, hopefully, have people able to recreate it ready than just hope it won't happen like the rest of them were doing.

...am I stupid, or do I count eight surviving primordial gods? We know Izanagi survived, but he didn't show up at the roundtable for some reason.

Tbf hiding it is as much a self fulfilling prophecy. At least now we have a record of ragnarok

In a way, both sides are right in their decision-making: Gollnir was right about the seal eventually being broken anyway so it's best to spread knowledge and history about it, while the other Gods are also right about keeping it hidden because people will try to find out about it so it's best to minimise the risk for as long as possible as much as possible.

It's no easy decision to make, and it's exactly why neither party blamed the other for it.
