This idea from a random short about solarpunk is very cool
Like a company stole the sun and rule everything. The world always in state of eclipse, so most plant can't grow and no greenery to cycle the carbon make the world apocalyptic.
The energy from the sun is not as clean as it's imagine so there is the abberation born from the light everywhere. The world and atmosphere is mixed between the movie "9" and game "Little nightmare" where everything is rusted and feel abandoned. The world is dull because how little light is there, the people are pale like vampire too. Gosh it'll mix so well in my story about exploration through the rift of space and time.
The rift connect two kind of world, the construct world like this and have the backroom as abstract world to add surrealism, making a lot of exploration through world building. Very nice

Dunno if i've already posted here, but it's 2am and i'm on a forced fictional writing abstinence until monday.
Anyways, so there's been this story i've been trying to get right for years. It started out as a crazy superhero sort of thing, but the idea of it has... changed... matured over the years, and recently after watching the New Superman movie I was inspired to look back, then after watching the first four seasons of Breaking Bad and the first season of Better Call Saul something interesting formed in the old cuckoo brain of mine.
Without going into crazy details, the story follows three perspectives: A sort of hacker/spy, a rising knight, and a ambitious hitman. The initial two meet right away, form an oddball team while the third eventually becomes a big time gangster who seems like the perfect puppet the knight wants to use to manipulate the local gangs.
Thing is the hacker-kid's brother-in-law, a smaller perspective is acting in direct opposition of the rising hitman, the Knight stumbles upon some darker people on his "quest of purity" which makes him spiral toward some "defeatist" thoughts, and the gangster just so happens to be the very man who killed both the Knight's mother and brother.
Once all these narratives become clear to each party things turn radically from plans into a rather disturbing finale which will result in the gangster's willing death, the brother-in-law's face being degloved, and the Knight and Hacker-Kid racing to stop the Hacker-Kid's sister (another minor perspective) from ending her own life after the brother-in-law kidnaps and kills their kid.
STILL very much a work in progress, you'll also note how the "hero" is referred to as a Knight as he's more played off like one, or a Ronin from a fallen house, seeking some sort of redemption for failure.
The idea is for the Knight to find a reason to even try cleansing the city before him. And that reason inevitably ends up being the hacker-kid and his sister.
Now, I know "sounds like you have a lot of it thought out, what gives?" well you see, I originally started things out way further down the line, then I started in the middle, and now I've found a good beginning. I didn't want to go with a full on Origin route, but I did not want to just throw a reader into madness (something I did when I started out in the middle). The Hacker-Kid serves as a good median, while his career is tracking and keeping tabs on Superhuman beings, he's the human core and reason, while the Knight needs the Hacker-Kid to climb back toward his human core and reason.
Also, the reason why i'm on a forced fictional writing pause right now is because I'm trying to build up. The more excited I am for a story, the more impatient I am to get to it, the better. That means I've got a decent 60-200 pages in me before I go "Okay, okay, okay, reread this because i'm not so sure about it". PLUS, I should be working on world-building design documents right now. I wrote 25% more than I did last year in just 10 months! Within the first two months of the year I had already met last year's amount... which really tells you that's my limit. Pretty much I'm pushing myself too hard. I know some will make fun of me, but writing can be quite "Draining". I usually enjoy that feeling of exhaustion after writing a lot, but as of late, there hasn't been a good week where writing is all I can do and there's no other expectations for a while. I've been writing for myself, university, dealing with IRL chaos and weird bouts of self-doubt. I need a break, buuuuut the ideas come when they may.

A spell idea! Called [Erasure]
It's a spell to erase someone out of existence, but the person that erased from existence would be back in few second. So the concept of being erased from reality mean everything you every did, and would do is erased. That itself would collapse the world as in butterfly effect. But this skill gonna solve itself!! If you erased a person from reality, that mean that person never exist so you never cast that spell thus you make paradox that would solve that spell.
Might sound useless but think the implications! Like if the sorcerer or wizard in a pinch and use this spell as evasive move, imagine you were being attack with fireball and erased yourself and that fireball gonna hit nothing, when you come back everything will be fine. That fireball essentially attack nothing. It's great support spell too!!

I'm gonna put this one here, because turns out I really suck at writing slice-of-life stories.
working title: Fake Clairvoyant Vtuber [Insert character name]
The idea came to me a few months ago when the Nube anime remake was announced. I remember reading it as a kid, and there was this chapter about an old man who could see the future.
But then he was socially cancelled because of basically the paradoxical effects of seeing the future. (I don't think the term "socially canceled" even existed 20 years ago.)
Then I also remembered the Koutora-san anime and the Aston Kutcher's Butterfly Effect movie, so I tried to mix them all, with a bit of streamer/vtuber twist.
Basic Idea:
A girl (because I think it's cuter that way) who can see the future, gets bullied like Koutora-san.
Becomes a hikikomori.
Tries to pick herself up by trying to become a vtuber.
Mostly she just chats and does handcrafts (building gunpla or warhammer or whatever, idk).
While giving a bit of lighthearted future reading for the viewers without showing her face.
I've designed a more detailed mechanics for my version of the future prediction with all of its limitations,
how it works, its paradoxes, its butterfly effects, and all of that.
But I'm not gonna go into detail here for now, because I might want to use it for my other stories.

An idea I have floating around for more than a decade by now is a superhero setting that plays in a metropolis with two colleges, one for superheros, one for supervillains, that clash in regular turf wars over control of the city.
It's pretty fantasy-kitchen sink in a modern setting, due to a multiversal portal being open near the city, which both brings people, that usually join either one of the academies, but also strange monsters.
There is also the fact that the city itself is part of a larger empire with a god-empress, but that one is missing during the time of the story, so it doesn't affect much apart from lore.
The Superhero academy has a superman type character as the leader, though I haven't really cooked that up much about it yet, though it isn't planned to deconstruct it and actually doing that properly. I'll cook it up eventually.
The Supervillain academy I have slightly more cooked up, with one being a dark knight with powers that play on "dark - light" and "heavy - light", having gravity manipulation abilities that are used via an Armour and melee weapons conjured through it, kinda a Darth Vader clone, but it has a bit more developed since by now, name of that is "Knight Organox III." with some noble family stuff attached. The Dean of the villain academy uses the name "Bad End" as her moniker and has an ability that allows her to take, collect and grant superpowers. (I choose that one long before MHA came out, to note), it is library-themed, and she is more of a secret mastermind type.
And then there is also Kirsche S. Ragnarök, who is a focal character of the setting.
Openly, she is a total Genki Girl that helps the weak.
Secretly, she is a total Genki Girl that seeks to eradicate superpowers at all and usher in a world of the weak, where power is eradicated.
ATM, in my undercooked story, takes over as the main antagonist during the finale of the second act, where she cripples both the superman type and also knight Organox after interfering in their duel.
I do need to cook out her Ideology a lot more though and find a way to make it a properly fitting conflict
The story itself I imagine as a three-acter, with the first act being a cypher character from the portal joining one of the two academies, with some minor plot going on.
Think of either making it a VN, or, if I go really off the rails, an overly designed MMO with radically different play styles depending on class

Story of a wizard studying magic and physic
He spend his life understanding the constellation, the movement of the earth and star because that what power magic.
There he came in conclusion there is motion that push all this heavenly object, and a force that keep all of them neatly so nothing collapse. He established the concept of gravity, and it's a break through for all the wizard of the world
They've been knew about the planet rotation, but with this deeper understanding the magic they conjure will achieve new height.
The brilliant wizard were praised everywhere, he continued his work and trying to deepen his understanding about the concept of gravity. He establish the law of motion, akin to Newton. Now the new law established new branch of magic is here the gravity magic
Full of excitement he tried applying this into his spell, and experimenting with the new gravity magic. There he came into conclusion about how time affected by gravity by the most unfortunate accident. The brilliant wizard's experiment took for the worse, his spell collapse and his arcane spell resulting in black hole phenomenon. The black hole is temporary but it's too late, the wizard who caught by all of this is changed. For a moment ago and the future he experience time differently. That's the horror he can see himself in the past, and future, sometime time feel like frozen for him for a year, there were tine where he feel everything move so fast, he see his own death and see how start were born. All this information rushing toward his brain

Story about the monster after he kill Dr. Frankenstein.
Were gonna twist the story a little so it fit. After that creatures kill his creator, he wander around... Confused on what to do from now on. He was alone, his lover were destroyed and his parent he murder him. There is no one for him in this world.
Then a voice whisper into the creature ear "where am i?"
The creature jolt, shcked and wondering where it's come from. Then the voice continues "ah... I see, so that's what happened"
The creature shout "who are you? Where are you?" the voice whisper back "I'm inside you darling, look into the mirror"
The creature search for mirror and look at it, his eye glow. The voice continues "did you see me now darling?"
In the confusion the creature ask "how are you get into my eye mrs?". The sound explain that she always been here. She introduced herself as Melody, a witch. It seems the creatures's sin of killing his father awaken her piece of soul that reside in his eye.
The witch continue with her explaination, she was killed few hundred years ago by hunters. Normally you will resent people who kill you, but she doesn't soind to resent them. She knew that day will come sooner or later, after all she did do quite bit of crime herself. After she killed, her body were cut and used as relic and weapon. Times goes her eye were fallen into possession of the doctor. There he use it for his creature. The witch ask the creature to be United with her other body part "I'm sorry dear, I know it's sound selfish but please.... Could you help me reunited with my part?" Surprisingly the creature said yess to her, as he doesn't have any destination or goal for the future.

remember the story of king in yellow about a play named king in yellow that in the book universe can induce madness?
i feel like this could be explored further, usually its story about "a story" that so scary its destroy people mental. What about sadness? a story about story that its content so perfect and sad everyone that read it guaranteed to cry and fall into great sorrow.
no one able to stop because the story is so perfect and compelling, everyone want to read it. But unfortunate soul who sucked into the book unable to bear the grief its cause. For some describe it as if they lose their loved one, for some describe it as if the world has come to an end. But instead of the book being published by someone and banned by the government the book simply there in the corner of book selves, corner of library, inside of the old cabinet, the book never popular hence people doesnt know the content, it choose its reader.

- a general so proud of his achievement he fall into deep depression and took its own life after reading it, regretting everything he have done
- once an outstanding young man, with promising future that's gonna lead the nation read it and it changed him..... the book took his ability to speak and hear, he never been the same
- one person so convinced the content of it is real so much so he trying to prevent the tragedy in book in real life, but of course the book is a fiction and his action in real life cause him a doom
- hitman that been trained to be apathetic read the play and felt grief for the first time and change his way of life into a priest
- how it destroy a happily married couple, as the two been happily married but one day the husband read the book and swallowed by grief like other. He talk to his wife about the book and his wife said "calm down honey, its not real" "how could you said that? they are real to me" his grief turn into anger, believing his wife were actually the villain in disguise and he murder in cold blood

I had two idea of TSF story, one of it is horror theme... Well... Probably both if you see it in another angle
Story one: what if instead of usual TSF where one self turned into a girl, its a clone instead. Using alien as plot device, the MC were kidnapped and cloned. And the clone were gender swapped, because it's a perfect clone with memories too the clone thought it's TSF'D and play out the usual shenanigans. Then one day she got a dream, her "old" body calling her. At first she thought nothing of it, then at the walk after school she found him, the original walk around aimlessly with dead eye. After being asked "it" talk, it seems the memory been erased. There without second thought she bring the body back the her house. Then the story going as in trying to get the memory of the original body. Both goes to the same school, everyone suspicious who the girl is if the main body is there, but DNA checked both body is similar. In journey to make the main body remember what happen, both were fall in love with each other. It was weird thing, both admitt it. Bittersweet selfcest... Man... Hope my idea get turn into manga, somebody pls stole it!!! Bittersweet then expanded with the girl realizes she is a clone... And having identity crisis, but the original body calm her down and have her accept it. As for why the alien do it, let's not explore that and treat it as in "why you pick a flower" kind of thing. A once in a while of curiousity
Second story: it's more of horror align, the usual TSF but instead of weird drug, a curse, or alien it was other supernatural being. It's akin of wendigo that wear skin, but he forget he was wendigo. I got this inspired by this one manga about Dr monster, where one patient thought she a human but she is a bunch of fairy using human skin. She didn't know about anything of that, like when the skin used it's like another personality. Make it about that, he thought he was human and one night his instinct clicked and stole a skin of a girl. But to avoid the suspicious the wendigo warp the skin suit, so the face different from the original victim. In the morning that thing wake up, not realizing he have kill a person. The usual gender bender morning shenanigans, while on the table the thing watch TV and see the murder news. I think it's nice idea for a one-shot story
Story one: what if instead of usual TSF where one self turned into a girl, its a clone instead. Using alien as plot device, the MC were kidnapped and cloned. And the clone were gender swapped, because it's a perfect clone with memories too the clone thought it's TSF'D and play out the usual shenanigans. Then one day she got a dream, her "old" body calling her. At first she thought nothing of it, then at the walk after school she found him, the original walk around aimlessly with dead eye. After being asked "it" talk, it seems the memory been erased. There without second thought she bring the body back the her house. Then the story going as in trying to get the memory of the original body. Both goes to the same school, everyone suspicious who the girl is if the main body is there, but DNA checked both body is similar. In journey to make the main body remember what happen, both were fall in love with each other. It was weird thing, both admitt it. Bittersweet selfcest... Man... Hope my idea get turn into manga, somebody pls stole it!!! Bittersweet then expanded with the girl realizes she is a clone... And having identity crisis, but the original body calm her down and have her accept it. As for why the alien do it, let's not explore that and treat it as in "why you pick a flower" kind of thing. A once in a while of curiousity

whenever i read manga about battle action they usually train the main character by blindfolded them. While that is important i think something must been added.
in battle second of the most disorienting thing is sound. I will have the main character use headphone or something similar and had music blasted in the ear. Ear responsible for human balance too. fighting while disoriented ought to be good training
