first you have to enable it with this button in preferences:

after that, whenever you get a notification in the forums, it'll also pop up as a notification in your computer and/or your phone (if either support push notifications)

I think you can also disable specific alerts, like the ones from BlackGenerals profile post. @BakedBanana has a Gif of that if memory serves me right.

once again, just go to preferences, scroll down, uncheck the "alert" box under the options you don't want to be alerted by

or if you just want to disable push notifs, uncheck "push"
