I think the mc is dead. Just how its framed and how cliche it is screams the mc is dead. We must remember how much of a hack this mangaka is. If the mc wasn't dead, the scene where he meets his dead peers would have been something like "there's more you have to do in this world" and the ending would be he becomes Daredevil or something.

also the people we saw with him would be the others categorized as "evil" (which actually would be a good touch, they met in "hell" hahaha), so we can expect for him to actually be dead, the same with having him besides Azuma, if not once again author would pull crappy shenanigans.

As frustrating as I got reading this from all the stupid shit that went on, it was nice that he dies next to Azuma's body plus seeing all the people he was friends with. Honestly grandpa was the best character in this manga that I wish he lived longer. Can't wait to see how this wraps up since the sunk cost fallacy is what kept me going. Thanks for the translations.
