Though I must say, I postponed my comment thinking it would get better but no. I’m getting annoyed on how the son is treated by both the parents and his sister. Easily teased, weak, don’t have much saying on anything; now his sister… maybe it’s a cultural thing, idk. I initially thought it would be a short gag but the author really dragged it out; not my cup of tea. Also on that I might get hated for saying it but I preferred when the story was only about Xu Qing and Jiang He.

I think that's fine. Based on the usual standard, those are 2 series glued together into one - the first is the story of Xu Qing and Jiang He, which would traditionally end when their relationship becomes solid and she fully adapts to the modern world. The other is a sequel/spinoff that focuses more on the children/family life.
