but he was expected to anticipate every whim and want and need of his seven sisters. That sort of continuous experience should make a person rather insightful and good at reading the moods and intentions of others, especially when failure to get things correct and accurate based off someone's expression or posture/demeanor could see him getting punished in some way (he was, as you yourself said, a 'slave' after all). You forgot how the family treated him? They secluded him, had him do everything by himself, and outside of a couple other people like mom’s assistant, the family took credit for everything he did. He was given near zero credit on anything the family did, and the family never recognized his work.
Of course when you’re a slave, you won’t know much else outside of what your immediate task is.
So how is he suddenly incapable of doing that with every girl around him now? He should be amazing and discerning what their expressions and the tones of their voices are conveying, and the subtext of at least some of it.
But he's a fucking moron to it all. It's one thing that he be ignorant of things like love and friends/social settings, but simply being able to pick up on the fact that something is going on and that he should probably get to the bottom of would be reasonable to believe, given he was a one-man crew for seven professionals in the entertainment industry across multiple professions, and he would have had to know what they needed before they themselves, more often than not, to make certain they were all successful.
But the moment the genre of harem wish-fulfillment manga requires it, he's suddenly dumb and oblivious to the actions and feelings of others.
It's just a little bit incongruent, in that light. And while I understand this isn't meant to be a compelling piece of writing and that it's yet more simple wish-fulfillment "bashful MC pulls all the S-tier chicks" style storytelling, some internal consistency would be nice when it revolves around things that are effectively character-plotholes.
