I get the response though. Like imagine this in real life. One dude strolling through a battlefield, casually dodging bullets while using his revolver to headshot all of his enemies.

Though I wish the MC just said, "Training pods." and left it like that. This way is just too cliche.
I would start questioning if I was inside a Matrix, and not that's he's using some kinda 'Trick'.

And to be fair Hiro is keeping a very low profile over the course of the story. Of course nobody ever heard of him before he got all this insane buffs, money and crew.
And he loves it, because keeping low means people overestimate jim and makr mistakes when confronting him. Like those thugs who kidnapped the dwarf girl.
The thing is, Hiro isn't really keeping a low profile.
But rather, he has been active for only a few months by now, not enough time for his name to spread around.
Plus he has mostly taken in jobs which are either military contracts (thus didn't get much hype for it) or working with Noble (making it more of a confidential contract work, aka., no hype)

I mean, he's just saying what everyone else is thinking. No one is watching Hiro's antics and thinking "Yes, that was a sound strategy indicative of a brilliant tactical mind". They're all thinking "Like hell he did! What in the everloving shit did I just watch!"

Mercenary is a career that tends to attract hotheads and idiots, the kind of people who let their mouth get ahead of their brain. It is also a career that tends to weed hotheaded idiots out rapidly if they don't figure it out. I think he's an idiot, but a credible oned

To pile on to poor Rando Calrissian's faux paus, though... accusing Hiro of acquiring his honors through deceit and falsehood can be interpreted as casting aspersions upon Serena, as it was upon her word that he was honored.

Dude could have made this worse, but it would require some effort. He had the sense to wait until the awards ceremony was over, and took his beef up with Hiro instead of Serena.
...
And he swung at Hiro, not his crew. That would be an AMAZINGLY bad idea, as it turns out. (I've read ahead in the novels.)
Right? Like, it would be more believable to say "My ship has a cloaking device and I can fire torpedoes while it's active. What the video of the battle was tracking was just a tiny drone projecting a hologram of my ship, and that's why I didn't take any hits."

He's only now realising that honing your skills when death is meaningless is a big advantage. And I get the guy being suspicious of how this unheard of guy managed such crazy stuff but maybe don't immedicably pick a fight.

im suprised at this point nobody(npcs) thinks he's a illegitimate child of a noble or something, specially since he has swords.

If he said "training pods," and they were allegedly good enough to train people to fight against the crystal lifeforms, then he wouldn't be getting off of that space station with his ship intact, even if his crew took the space station apart in the process of leaving. That's the kind of intelligence that a military would expend half of their forces to destroy other countries over.

Also, his whole "slow time by holding my breath" thing lets him MOVE like a noble. It would be a reasonable assumption that he's got some blue blood in him. Far more reasonable than, say, he's a pro gamer from another dimension with latent inexplicable magic powers and a complete lack of common sense.

Not many would think like that in this series.

Since apparently quite a few Nobles do work as mercenary as a side job to showcase their strength and valor (mostly ex-knights, or those who like to fight, or those who have no right to inheritance, or those who ran away from home).

While not mentioned in the Manga, in the LN it's mentioned that most of the people who saw MC at the Award Ceremony just thought of him as a regular Noble who is playing around as Mercenary.

Plus, as polygamy is considered a norm in Noble society (like as per WN, Serena has three mothers, she is the daughter of the 2nd and has many siblings & half-siblings), so no one really questions much about illegitimate child or stuff like that.

Gaining hate for no reason other tan gaining hate.
Just say you have experience, your ship is good or something that sounds reasonable.

There's no explanation that sounds reasonable is the problem. He's too good to be suicidally reckless, but no one who isn't suicidally reckless would do that, and they wouldn't be around long enought to get good at it.

the ceremony is too fast?
and maybe i read wrong(admitly that wouldn't be uncomon for me) but hiro isn't sit alone but right next to a bunch high rank official in light novel, which really standout cause he is there next to a bunch of dude in uniform.

still it lost a lot of deteil, i am pretty sureit serena that personally give hiro the star award and is the one giving the speech.

They're in the middle of a military base. I'm pretty sure that turning a guy into spaghetti sauce would be somewhat of a bad idea at the moment.
MC , with this medal, is equivalent to a low-class Noble. He also has the undisputed right to wear those swords.
For all intents and purposes to the outside world, he is a Noble, regardless of MC's Opinion on this...

And, as is occasionally shown... As a Commoner you do not throw fists with Nobles... They have the full right to cut you down there and then if you even contemplate doing so. Let alone actually proceed to do so.
If anything, the idiot mercenary being bisected on the spot would be considered normal, and a consequence of his own stupidity.
If anything, our dear combat maid intercepting the attack and merely restraining the idiot would be seen as an act of mercy, and an attempt to maintain decorum on what should be a proud and festive occasion for all involved.

With all the Harem shenanigans and Cool Space PewPew peeps tend to underestimate how incredibly harsh this Universe is... And how big the gap between Commoners and Nobility. Of Citizens and Outcasts.
Not quite Dystopian, but very much Not Nice™ nonetheless.

Ahh yes, checking if he's got his feet and is not a ghost.

Did she bring her super-dense-metal batons with her?
Those are against power armor... :haa: Her frame is made of similar materials anyway.

We haven't seen training simulators yet, I wonder what they're like - probably not built to train for the crazy stuff your average MMO player comes up with.
The ship's cockpit comes with a simulator software. He can train whenever he has some free time, just not showing it since it's not screentime worthy. In fact in the novel it's mentioned he practices piloting Black lotus in case Mei cannot pilot for whatever reason.
