Maybe? That's certainly a benefit of the outcome, but I think the restriction is more due to Yuna being lectured by Fina on the value of mithril. From Yuna's POV though, the knife is effectively free (she has more mithril than she needs, has no real use for the rest of it right now, and she got the production cost of both in exchange for one of her huge stack of iron golems.)

Equally, Fina could have carried both in her magic bag, and only got out Shuri's if Fina felt it was appropriate/necessary. Even Fina only uses her mithril knife if she needs to, otherwise she uses the original Iron knife she had when she first met Yuna.
she has some mithril, but its clearlynot THAT much ... the "mithril-golem" she has is only coated in it ...... In fact she could make 2 skinning knifes and 2 daggers, the mithril she has left shouldnt be able to be used for much more, because it was stated it wouldnt have been enough for the knifes and a sword (which means the daggers were basically the limit)

She is just way too rich. XD
I personally dont think that yuna would have given Shuri the knife and then let her play around with. The result of Fina her scolding made it so that the Knife remains at yunas place and is only lend to Shuri when she uses it. Which is a thing/nuance that seemed to have gotten a bit lost translating the novel from Japanese.
Scolding still somewhat valid because its a bit too valuable for a kid as old as Shuri and not beeing a noble. (the point that Fina believes Yuna is too irresponsible with money comes from Fina beeing too poor first and them not understanding HOW FILTHY RICH Yuna actually is .... the author mentioned once that she would be able to buy several countries by their standards)

Its actually a decent amount of metal, between a half and a third; The book honestly doesn't say how much was taken by each dwarf. but I would assume there is at least enough left for a full-sized sword if Yuna wants one. And if there isn't, she could always just go mine some more.

Yup. She gave her parents ¥100M ($650K) to go on holiday, and that was just a drop in the bucket for her actual fortune - all of which was translated to local currency when she transmigrated

She has enough to live comfortably even without that though, given her income from (for example) the tunnel.

I think she would have just given both to Fina to manage; Shuri only ever does butchering under Fina's supervision anyhow, and lacks a magic bag. Most of Shuri's stuff (her bear jacket, for example) Fina carries for her in there.

Which is a thing/nuance that seemed to have gotten a bit lost translating the novel from Japanese.

There's that, yes. At one point, Gentz warns Fina to hide her mithril knife away from the other Guild staff, in case they want to take it. And Fina doesn't want to even take pocket change to go buy food at a stall, etc etc - she is used to having to scrimp and save to make ends meet, which of course pretty much ended once she met Yuna, but she can't get out of the habit.

It was outright stated that it wasnt enough for a sword in the books. Tho its true that they never stated how much they took. Also we dont know the exact size of the golems too. (For all we know they could be 1,80m or 2m tall, or even taller or smaller.)

She could buy some more but considering it isnt that high on her priority and they had a shortage beforehand, its in the stars when or if she gets one. (Despite her saying she would want one.)

One thing is the safety for Fina and the other is the safety for the employees. The second one is because of the danger of a rampaging bear. XD

Also still funny to think that most bandits avoid Crimonia by now because of Yuna. Also no one not new to the town would dare to imagine to mess with the orphans or Fina and her Family. XD

Must have missed that. Will see if I can catch it next time I re-read.

Although its possible some stuff is in the manga only too (the grandfather for example doesn't seem to show up in the light novel, just the manga/anime)

The golem is so large it couldn't fit though a Bear Gate without being tripped.... but I don't recall an exact size being given. But that said, the other adventurers mistook it for an iron golem, so maybe its around the same size?

Dwarf town doesn't seem to have a shortage, although it's in a different country so probably doesn't pull from the same mines.

Fair enough.
The danger of a rampaging bear can't be underestimated.

Various adventurers are fully aware of the dangers of a rampaging bear. However, I doubt enough bandits survived long enough to pass on this knowledge (I could be wrong; after all, quite a few of the staff from the Salbard estate survived her visit, and I imagine many of them aren't exactly upstanding citizens)

I pity that one guy that she followed to the capital, then again to the middle of a desert. He really really can't get away from the bear...

As a fact from the novels, there is a "Bandit" who avoided getting caught by her, simply because he was lucky. Like beeing away from the group near the harbor town when they played bandit.

And later he warned many other Bandits. So seeing a girl dressed as a bear means instant running away.

That was in the story about the merchant guild of Misa her hometown. Was a special side story. Kumanano (Author) did several of them. Not all are in the light novels yet. Would need to scourge all novels again to find where it was covered again. XD

Fair enough. I am mildly unhappy at the apparently common japanese habit of writing extra short stories to be given away ONLY when buying the physical print copy at selected japanese stores; KKKB at least has released two collections of those (although the 20.5 set of "what if Yuna could watch the anime series" is painful)

I assume this was one that didn't make it into that or 11.5...

(D-Genesis side stories aren't great, either)
