If you were the Demon King would you rather have a village next door, or have to travel cross-country every time you want to abduct a hot villager?

Oh, will the ring allow him to learn magic of other elemental type? That's pretty interesting if true.
The demon king might not even be aware that there's a village down there. Besides, the whole story with the summoning was dodgy to start with, so the mission to kill the demon king is probably dodgy too.

Based on his previous experiences with the fairy, even if she were able to appraise the ring, he wouldn't be able to make sense of what she'd say about it anyway. (Remember "whoops, here comes mister Piggy!" ?)
I'm assuming that the Demon King has an even higher level of < WILL OF GOD > than the summoned Earthlings. (fyi Rook had < WILL OF GOD III > in chapter one, until he noticed and got rid of it.)
That god fellow wants those people to act out his little scenario, which gets ruined pretty easily if the BBEG is allowed to act outside of the script.

Yeah, the demon king leaving the village be makes it little sense, mayeb the place is cloaked or everyone in it is a murder machine.
With the literal pillar of light appearing and no move on the demon front it looks like the theory of the hero story following a script makes sense.

I like this manga, but it's pretty rough to be a fan of. 2 chapters over the past 8 months. Maybe I should wait another five years and then there will at least be 10 chapters. Although, there's no chance I remember it after all that time. What to do

Well ignoring how suspicious that god is for a moment, no demon with any intelligence wants to destroy humanity.
In the abrahamic religions, demons are more like a symbiotic organism to humans and their goal is to usurp worship from the one true god and be worshipped as gods themselves once again, fae in old european religions are also similar to demons in the way that they don't really want humans gone so much as they want to control them and asian demons are mostly the same though with alot more variance to the point of some demons/yokai even being beneficial to humans.
Ignoring all that though, 3 possibilities come to mind.
1. The town is protected by some holy artifact of something.
2. The people are overpowered, but neutral, alternatively they are demon worshippers and the demon lord likes a challenge so they help anyone who wants to fight them to do so.
3. The demon lord simply doesn't want to hurt them, either because they see no need, or they simply ain't that kind of demon lord.

It's the same way for the wn of it I'm reading, years go by and I check the translator's site to find a chapter or two split into parts.

Just read the WN, the translation is up to chapter 334 in NU. It's way more advanced than the manga, but it's been in hiatus since June.

At least she understands that he probably have circumstances for why he just registered when he seems to have a history.
Random exploration moment. Kind of feels like a kid exploring some location. Kinda neat, actually.
That certainly looks like a Demon Lord's castle.
The other characters. Haven't seen them in a while.
A village at the end of the journey, close to the final boss. I've seen a couple protagonists grow up in those villages, and they're all completely OP. Usually with no common sense.
Do the silly ritual, then get some grub. It'll work out. Such a mood.
Good blacksmith, warning him to not be too naïve.
Wonder if he could as the fairy.

The golden dragon is a sacred beast but so is Rooks pet Shion, but the golden dragon got out earlier than the ritual iirc therefore I doubt that the gd is the sacred beast they summoned
