i have 2 simple questions about the previous mummy arc :

is there any relationship between these 2 things :

a / a small mummy :

* has 2 arms and 2 legs .

* walks on 2 legs .

* has no tail .

b / a big space whale :

* has no arm and no leg .

* swims in the air .

* has a tail .

and why a whale , from outer space , is riding an earthly bicycle to move around , and using an earthly katana and earthly bandages as its weapons ?????

if no one can answer these 2 questions , then that means the writing style of this mangaka is actually just "random bull-sh!ts , go" ( quote of moon knight , lol ) .

Easy: as the manga stated, mummies are merely earthly containment vessels for alien entities. Having a containment vessel that looked like a whale would be too conspicuous, and too large to store effectively.

As for why it’s a space whale, there’s the in story explanation, that as an alien entity we are merely perceiving it to be a giant space whale when in fact that is either what our puny human minds make it look like or that our earth whales and these aliens merely coincidentally look similar. Or the meta reason which is that it’s a Hitchhiker’s Guide and/or Star Trek reference as the author constantly mines pop culture for references to use as both aliens and yokai.

And as for why it uses a katana and bandages: it requires the containment vessel to function on earth and so it needs to use weaponry that can be utilised for the suit, and a whale doesn’t really have any ability to utilise defensive or offensive capabilities.
