From the last thoughts of Soske in the chapter: "She found out about my lower body problem. How did she find out?"

Tranquillizers (drugs that immobilise the body) are in the blood for up to 16 days, and in the urine even longer.

On the last page, it can be hidden behind the hair. There's something similar in the third one. The mole is on the back of the hand, closer to the armpit.

I didn't express myself correctly, she tried to discredit Rika so much to break Soska.
He said "No no, this looks likes too well prepared...!!! Like she knew about my lower body problem!". But if she mixed a tranquilizer, than the blood flow would not award an erection either way, so she "knowing" might be more to Sosusuke's thinking.

Depends on the drug, but blood circulation drugs are discarded more quickly, so even if the tox screen shows any response torwards tranquilizers, would not justify the erection per see( on the contrary, tranquilizers and sedatives tend to cause ED and low libido);

On the third to fourth page( where she's touching his chest while backing away a little to show the bulge) we have a clear view of her arms, going to the armpit. She doesn't have a mole( then again, Rika's mole "vanished" in chapter 11 of the web, but this was fixed in the tankobon release);

Regarding the mole.

As I have already stated, any conclusions in this manga cannot be based solely on graphical elements. In other words, until the characters themselves notice the connection, it doesn’t really matter. However, it should also be remembered that the author might have left this Easter egg at the end of the previous chapter without emphasizing it. Moreover, in close-up shots of Misato’s torso, her left side is often hidden or shaded in some way. In any case, this detail is not particularly important on its own.

And, as has happened many times before, the author does not give us clear answers.

Readers have two main questions:

  1. Misato’s connection with Rika, and what kind of connection it is. The ambiguous phrase about the “friend of a prostitute” can be translated in different ways, but it is an impersonal statement-even if it is linked to the “house” story.
  2. Misato’s objective: poisoning Sousuke and filming a coerced sexual act is a very strange thing to use as blackmail in a divorce scenario, for example. Provided that the identity of the man in the footage needs to be precisely verified for outsiders, his lip movements would be visible-and could be analyzed.
The poisoning itself may indicate either experience in such matters (drugging men for subsequent blackmail or theft) or Misato’s professional background, as there is no guarantee she did not lie to Sousuke about being a schoolteacher. She could, in fact, be a doctor.

In any case, answering the question on the last page of chapter 67-what is the truth? The truth is most likely somewhere in the middle, if we consider all the potential options, from the most disgusting to those that could overturn the entire story and readers’ expectations. Or the author may present an entirely unexpected development.

Since we know that Misato’s second party is partially under suspicion by Satsuki (she saw an incoming call), it is quite obvious that she will intervene in what is happening. The logic of the events and previous examples point to this—only this time the sisters swap roles.

The key point of the chapter is Sousuke’s monologue.

He is completely right, and we have seen this long before the last chapter. Everything was set up in advance: the time and the place. Misato knew about Sousuke’s problem beforehand and prepared for it. Based on this, further reasoning should be developed.

The information about Sousuke’s “problem” is unlikely to be known to Rika herself, even though it is not strictly a secret—unless she or Misato had contact with the involved parties. Let us consider: who knew about his problem? Sousuke told the following people (correct me if I am wrong):

  1. The banker’s wife, during her conflict with Shiratori.
  2. Yuno, Shiratori’s girlfriend.
  3. Akiba Megumi.
  4. The disgusting couple from the bar, although this was probably inferred by observing him (his lack of reaction).
A fairly plausible option is Shiratori himself. If Rika has even stronger blackmail on him, he could be the “traitor”-he may have learned this from his own girlfriend later, questioning why Sousuke did not actually engage with her.

If we are looking for a “traitor,” it is worth considering the motives and pressures that could have been applied to them. Regarding the banker and his family-we don’t know if there is a connection between him and Rika, but his wife is a different matter. She could have been aware of this connection, and in general, the entire process with Shiratori did not cause her any particular objections; on the contrary, she seemed to enjoy it very much.

It also seems realistic that the bar couple could have relayed this fact. If we imagine it as a close-knit community and the patrons noticed Sousuke, they might have shared it as a joke: “Oh my God, there was a funny situation recently-you know my partner, and how sexual she is. Imagine, we came across a man who didn’t react to her-he must have a problem.”

Satsuki herself cannot be fully sure that Sousuke has a serious problem. I am also convinced that Misato knew this fact in advance and prepared for it. If not, and it was all due to the drugs she used, then everything above becomes meaningless. However, since the topic of Misato’s “knowledge” of Sousuke’s personal life was raised in his monologue, I consider it important.

At present, the new chapter has probably raised more questions than it has answered, which, however, is a typical situation for this manga.

You are absolutely right.
But there’s also a question from her side.
It goes roughly like this:
“Do you really think, Yamada-san, that I wouldn’t be able to cause an erection for you?”

In other words, she assumes that Sousuke perceives this as a problem in advance, not during the current situation.
But maybe I’ve misunderstood something.

A small addition.

And the most important point is Soueske’s journey itself-specifically, the reason Shiho sent him on this trip on that particular day.
This question also needs to be addressed.

Regarding Shiratori, there are some "dark spots" in his story.
We have already discussed the part about his business and his acquaintance with Rika.

However, the story about the bar also concerns me.
Shiratori’s version is as follows: his role was to monitor the room where Rika and Shingo were allegedly present and to prevent any third parties from entering.

However, if we consider the testimony of another participant in the case-Shingo-it was hidden from us by the author.
No one besides Shiratori himself can confirm his words.
And we do not know what actually happened there.

The rough translation is [Could it be i myself can't give you an erection, is what you're thinking?]. Later she says "The confusion in Yamada-kun's face is so cute". I assume that her method of pinning him down for this filming is failsafe, but Sousuke projected his problem into the situation as something personal-only, while she treated it as more of a status quo. My thoughts lie down in 3 points, mainly:

  • If she knew of this "problem" beforehand, she was informed by sources who knew about such, and those are few and easier to track down;
  • Alternatively, she could've "know" of this problem as a status quo. Basically, something similar( another target, or "other targets") passed on to her at an earlier date( earlier dates) had the same problems( probably the NTR scenario) and she knew how to counter that;
  • I'm staying with the thought that the substances she mixed in could have achieved a failsafe result for this plan. His low blood pressure( due to the tranquilizer) would render him limp, but as he felt his heartbeat was different, she definetly mixed another thing with the drink. So the erection was unintentional, but definetly would appear( blood circulation drugs, like viagra, have this side effect).

Still, this video cannot be considered as evidence of adultery. It will show that Soska can't even move and talk too. Then why do they need it at all? If Rick is involved in this whole situation, it is most likely that she is trying to break his moral principles. With this video, Rika will not be able to go to court, as Soske can file a counterclaim, accusing Rika of prostitution. Although he has no evidence, the investigation will show that she is guilty (bank account statement, witness statements). It is most likely that Rika wants him to accept who she is, and this is by producing secret accounts. Rika's adultery, Soska will not be able to forgive, but he will be able to accept the rest.

And we still need to think about how we can link everything together, especially the plan with the cd card..

Your arguments are extremely logical and do reflect reality.

However, it seems to me that you are repeating the same mistake I made when drawing conclusions about this manga.
One should not try to look for a realistic and complex explanation of the situation when the author himself puts the answer into the protagonist’s mouth.

But perhaps you are right.

But...can( or will) he really file a counterclaim? My main point of this video is regarding sheer blackmail to create leverage.
Rika would have evidence against him, but he woudn't have any decisive against her.
And since Sousuke did not go for any law enforcement for help( even when she was away), i'd say it's no far to think Rika, again, would believe he would keep things under the sheets. She knows him well.

True, investigating may yield results because of the bank and witness testimonies, but the amount of scandal would certainly make things dangerous...
  • Shiratori's victims would have to go to witness protection, as disclosing that so many kids were rewarded good recommendations for schools based on such acts is definetly problematic for all involved( families, old school and new school alike), as well as damage the psych in the family;
  • Going after Momonga would disclose the happening bar, and the omake/extras from vol 4 indicates that the public there is...not so small fry...
My point with this is that resentment would be high enough to hunt Sousuke for detroying marriages and status, so even in witness protection, the danger would still be present in his and his family's life. Risk is too high here( i may be too much into mafia stories...or simply Oshi no ko was somewhat popular with this)...
Also, Rika probably has some leverage against some people, just to help her stay in bussiness and protect her if necessary.

Occam's razor? Fair enough. Agreed! I'll still wait to see, as the outcome could lead to another point of interest in the story, as a shift in perspective or focus.

We now have two whole weeks to build new theories. We expect a new chapter on January 13. Mr.Kalimaman, we will ask you to tell us what will be in the extra chapters by the sixth volume.
I'll do my best! Vol 6 should cover chapters 49( Sousuke's taking of the SD card) through chapter 58( the legenday Shingo's wig chapter).

What do you think they can show? What moment will they reveal in them?

Here's my opinion:

1. Rika's new scenes with sd cards

2. How Shingo kidnapped the card and uploaded the video

3. More scenes from the video from the bar

4. Akiba and Soska's kiss, from Rika's side (as she saw them)

Not exactly Occam’s razor, but overall you’ve grasped the essence correctly.
In my view, the author is rather superficial in the meticulousness of certain moments; on the other hand, as far as I know, MITA is a big fan of old crimes and often reads about them, as he himself has said.

As for all the theories, we’ve put forward dozens of hypotheses, and the dullest one always won — Singo’s wig was the only real surprise in the entire story.
In general, reading his previous works, you can’t say that MITA always follows one template and never flips the story with a final twist; the relatively popular manga Scandal in Neon Tokyo isn’t really a good comparison here.
And yes, MITA is perfectly capable of delivering a fairly naïve and far-fetched outcome — “it was all a neural network” or “there are two Rikas who are twins,” and so on.

Once again, I want to share my useless opinion with you, and once again I’m waiting for your take on this 🙂

1) Rika’s phone call.

With the new arc, the author is doing everything he can to separate Rika from the “house.” One can assume this is entirely Misato’s initiative, since she made a mistake.
She allowed her younger sister to start talking about the “brothel house,” and Satsuki also stated that Misato is aware of this story.
She really has no choice but to support this line, while at the same time not giving Sousuke any reason to continue the investigation, essentially leading the thread of the search into nowhere.

However, the call itself and the way the contact is named — formal, including the surname — seems deliberately designed to show that they are not as close as we assume.

Readers, myself included, have noticed that we know nothing about Rika’s family.
And that the main figure in this whole disgusting group is not the younger Rika, but her mother, after whom she was named — Rika Miyase Sr., the matriarch of the family, so to speak.

2) The three-day period before meeting.

Many assume this is connected to Rika attempting, during Sousuke’s absence from home, to abduct Shiho or otherwise infiltrate the Yamada household.
But this doesn’t make much sense, since she could easily do this while Sousuke is at work; most likely he hasn’t changed the locks, and nothing prevents her from simply taking Shiho from school later.

Still, this timeframe was chosen by the author because of the three-act structure used in this manga — it is always maintained in the main storylines.

3) My last question for now is more conceptual.

Three weeks have passed. What is the point of this waiting, and what does Rika want?
The work hints - including through the “trap” set by Misato (although I personally tend to believe it was her own initiative, but I’ll reveal that theory after chapter 68) - that Rika’s goal is to break, subjugate, or otherwise secure her own safety.

But if we step back from that, why take such a risk?
Sousuke has no evidence; as you said, she has patrons, and if they exist, then Sousuke’s path if he tries to investigate this is literally a path to the grave. She has nothing to worry about.

Without any doubt, Rika does not tolerate disobedience and does not accept defeat — that’s the only explanation.
But if she accepts this, she would have to admit that she is not omnipotent and that Sousuke is no longer the blind idiot he once was.
But all of this is essentially sophistry.

On the other hand, we have another example - her hometown. She, or her entire family, has already fled once, just as Rika is doing now, and I think they not only disgraced themselves but also left a deep mark on all the residents, who not only don’t want to talk but are afraid to do so.
Perhaps this is about that behavioral pattern.

In the end - yes, blackmail with divorce plus compromising material is logical and fits the spirit of the manga, but if things go wrong, defeat would lead her to collapse.
If we imagine that she was the one who directed Misato to carry out this plan, then she essentially brought closer to Sousuke a person who, unlike Singo, knows much more. At the same time, Misato is a woman, which means the situation could lead to a physical confrontation with Sousuke in which she might not necessarily win.

Misato knows too much, and quite recently Rika was already betrayed by a pawn - Singo - and now she’s making the same mistake again. If this is the case, then her “intellect” has been greatly overestimated by readers.

If Rika were truly a manipulator and a woman well-versed in using her charm, she should have been softer.
Fake tears, a bit of lying, reconciliation - and later a request to move. That way she would have preserved everything.

She had three weeks for this, and after talking with her own daughter, she would have learned that Sousuke was already broken and ready for a conversation.
But no, she didn’t do that.
The first thing she should have done was to regain control over Sousuke, but instead she hands everything over to another person, once again losing control of the situation.

The only thing that comes to my mind that could explain why she might perceive a greater threat to herself - greater than what we’ve been shown - is the testimonies of Singo and Shiratori.
Testimonies that were hidden from us. Yes, maybe they’ll appear in the extra chapters of volume 6, but I strongly doubt it.

All the options on Rika’s side reveal the plot’s intentions too explicitly.
I’m more inclined toward the versions involving the cheating couple at the aquarium and the subsequent scenes with the vibrator.
Also, possibly scenes related to Singo’s “practice,” despite the fact that this detail was revealed outside of volume 6 - it could still be a reference to the extra chapters of volume 6 that were planned earlier.
But maybe I’m wrong.

A lot of possibilities, but...please, don't raise too much expectations.

Vol 1 extras: A little more in depth of the video that Sousuke saw at Momonga.

Vol 2 extras: Kamizaki and his wife making an introduction sex video for Shiratori. The pacing and position was strange, he finished quickly, and Shiratori's expression, even with the horse mask, was...understandable. He said the technique sounded like a grasshopper or something( Kamizaki really vibrated like one);

Vol 3 extras: Shiratori and Tsutsumi Yuno's first time. She was kinda meek and let him do the job. She said, at the end, that his face and vigor reminded her of a horse;

Vol 4 extras: an outsider's taking on the happening bar. Got rejected by a goth girl, then peeped through one of the holes on one of the doors. Saw a young woman( idol level beauty) with an old man. Then switched to the other hole. A guy having a 3-way with twins. Quitted, saw the goth girl going in the 3rd room with a new guy. Tried peeking. Got bounced by the couple that first approached Sousuke and Akiba. Arrived home to his wife, menacing words, and a knife in hand;

Vol 5 extras: Akiba and Sousuke's "trial date" after the bar. One could imply this was to further escalate Akiba's view and objetification of Sousuke( literally, the extra ends by saying she went home to masturbate after him).

That's a pretty basic summary.

I'd like to add a few nuances about Rika's call. If Rika's plan was for Misato to follow Sousuke, wasn't Rika afraid Sousuke would see who was calling? That would ruin her plan, since Sousuke would realize they were collaborating. This is a risky move on Rika's part, she should have just waited for a call from Misato. Misato was supposed to carry out Rika's plan and then report back to her. This suggests that Rika was unaware that Misato had met with Sousuke.Regarding the elder Rika Miyase, this theory would explain a lot.

A three-day period. Recall what Misato said during the drinking session: "My business here seems to be coming to an end." After these words, Sousuke goes to bed. We've already understood that Misato was preparing for a meeting with Sousuke. Why couldn't the story about a class reunion be a lie? Perhaps it was a way to keep Sousuke close.

So what was Rika doing these past three weeks? My guess is she was looking for whoever set her up with the SD card. Most likely, it was Misato, and the call was meant to discuss that. As for why she wasn't answering Sousuke, she didn't know how to explain everything to him. And at first, she wanted to find the culprit and force him to talk. As for Shingo, Rika was sure he wouldn't say anything, since he was in cahoots with the culprit (Misato).

It seems to me that Misato's plan from the beginning was to drag Soska into bed. She hoped that Soska would do it in despair. She even took offence at him because he chose her sister. After questioning about Rika, she realised that nothing would work and resorted to radical measures.

Within the framework of your theory that we discussed earlier, it looks extremely concise.

Also, Riki’s phone call works very well as a trigger for Misato - as if she has very little time left to commit violence against Sousuke, as though it’s not only Sousuke who is trapped, but Misato as well.

Once again, I’ll repeat that, in my opinion, this version fits extremely well and is quite easy to implement, even though there are no obvious hints for it yet.

In any case, I myself was surprised by how plausible it seemed to me.

We’ll wait for the updates in two weeks to discuss this theory.
