It might have been a story full of tropes we've seen before and basically nothing original to it, but I did like the MC, and I'm sad to see this go. He was relatable, unlike a lot of reincarnation MCs born into nobility whose personalities change too much because of their upbringing. This guy spent 10+ years getting a noble's education and it barely had an effect on him. He was a cool, uncouth, stubborn ossan and stayed that way internally and even had the nerve to call his father the king by the name he called him in his old life. If I was in his position, even I think I'd have trouble retaining so much of my identity (or at least, I'd be too averse to the scolding I'd get.) So I respected how "believably cool" this MC's personality was. He even stayed sternly against all the oneeshota stuff (and it's also nice that his old disciple wasn't a shotacon, just missed her adopted father and grew attached to the boy who resembled him so much.) I'm not quite at the age he was when he died in his first life, but I'm getting up there, and I genuinely wish I could be as cool as him. I'm glad ossans are getting a little more dignity and respect in anime/manga nowadays... I remember when 90% of them were just pervy old men.

So yeah it's a pity this got axed. I would have liked to have seen the people close to him slowly realize that he really was Brise's reincarnation by the time he reached adulthood, especially for the sake of his disciple-turned-sensei and the king, who definitely missed Brise a lot (for entirely different reasons.) I could have done without the oneeshota stuff, but the MC pushing back against it so hard made it tolerable (and tbh it was mostly platonic when it came to Lili, so there was only one annoying shotacon in the entire cast... could have been way worse.)

If there are similar series to this that I don't know about, I'd love it if some commenters could recommend them to me. And by similar, I mean the reincarnated guy keeps the dignity and mentality of a cool and respectable ossan and doesn't fall in love with a literal child.

Whelp it was obvious it would get axed with how long that homunculus arc took :shamihuh:

But its still hella sad it did because man just this chapter alone gave me sadness/diabetes watching the relationship of brise x lily
I'm really sad we wont see more of them :meguuusad:

Aaaw it ended.

Can someone spoil me if we’re gonna get the war with the republic or not? I mean, with this much dirt on them, you’d think that’s the minimum if they didn’t fork over a large amount of compensation.

Making me wish there was a database of manga and why they were axed, man.
Best regards for the scanlations.
The closest thing to this that I have started doing is treating the "Adaptation" tag as the "Novel Ad" tag.

You see that tag, chances are high that you will never see the ending.

It ended in a satisfying way - definitely could have kept going, but at least it ended in a good spot.
I will always remember the ones that ended in such an infuriating way as they rushed to conclude things, that this by comparison feels perfect. :dogkek:

Anyway, overall it was a fun read, but because it didn't really go that far it feels a bit shallow overall, like we dipped our toes into an interesting story, but never made the plunge or went over anything in any greater depth.
So nice for a quick afternoon, but bad if you actually wanted some meat to your story.
