If I recall the name Nijimura first pop up when they were doing home delivery...or in this case, literally home delivery. They got split up and Hama still stuck doing home delivery while Yume joined a cult and met Hama's dad.

Eh who is nijimura?
Yume's body hopping mom, might (or might not) also be Hama's mom. She bodyjacked a lot of people already, seems like their friend was secretly possessed by her too.

Edit: Or not lol, I guess I mixed everything up.

Tks for the translation as always!

Eh who is nijimura?
Nijimura is the child they said could save the world and is the strongest and needed to avoid the bad future.

We've been lead to believe that the new girl was nijimura but it turns out that yume is actually nijimura. Meaning Shes been the one the entire time.

Now it makes sense why yayoi killed her parents and adopted her

Yeah honestly, the child of the prophecy bill fits Yume more and with Hama's memory issues it's no wonder she missremembered. Just a question, was Yume aware of Nijimura being the child of prophecy or was that just mentioned to Hama ? I can't recall ngl

I reread some old chapters, and it looks like Hama was the only one who heard about Nijimura. In chapter 192 (which got taken off of MD, but you can find aggregators that host it by googling "read ura baito"), Yume and Hama see a figure in the mist. The figure looks like Tokiko from Q to Hama, but to Yume, looks like her adoptive mom Yayoi. The figure says she's looking for Nijimura, but only Hama can hear her. I'm guessing Yume's not supposed to know that she has this important role until it's time. Later in chapter 198, Hama ends up back in time in her hometown and has to deliver a package to Nijimura, and she thinks that Nijimura is the friend in this chapter, but that's because of her memory issues.

Also, in the story with the angels where Deborah (the fat lady from Q) tried to trap Yayoi, she tricks her by saying that she's taking her to Nijimura.

Man , in the end there were so many different threads to this.
I'd like to try and re-read as a marathon but I know a lot of the creepiness and fear-factor of the chapters will be depleted when I've already read them and faintly remember them. Also, the chapters are quite text-heavy so re-reading would take a long time, and the story only progrosses in an over-arching way via quite small references drip by drip so it mostly reading one off stories just to get a little bit of overall plot understanding.
I just hope that the two main girls make it out ok and that the woman who killed the detective and stole the female detective's body gets a horrific death/eternal torment that we get to see unfold for more than two pages, ideally like 6 or more.

so if Hama chan's dad is grey, Hama chan's mum is apparently now grey, and yume's mum is grey... then what about yume's dad? I can't remember what they said about him.

Gotcha thanks, yeah was a bit iffy if Taguchi fumbled and forgot but glad it makes perfect sense as a twist. Time to pour honey over him.

oh fk thats some op foreshadowing. we didnt take much of it and thought hama had to deliver a package to nijimura but in fact what it actually meant was she needed to deliver a package to yume, which she did, when she delivered all those houses to the cult

Ouch... So that glasses girl basically not related with this Nijimura case, just to make strong point that Hama have dismembered memories. Glad to hear it came full circle again with this reveal

That reminds me of early theory among Japanese fans that they will have big roles for the main arc cause their name is "Nozomi" and "Mirai" which is hope and future and "Yume" being dream. And another theory that Nijimura is someway related to Yume's brother cause of chapter 193.

Are they related ? I remember reading that they are not blood related but I can't be sure

Yep double checked (amusement park 3) yume is not blood related to her siblings. If her og last name was nishikura then it means her step siblings aren't that... Maybe.

The fact that yayoi adopted them all has to mean something tho
