honestly, their (adoptive) dad's kinda really fucking the goat by just leaving a bunch of children to fend for themselves with the media storm underway.
Apparently not thinking for a second that the "parents"--whether the real deal or con artists, wouldn't be coming out of the woodwork to harass and seemingly extort said children into "further compensation" or something--is just standard procedure from someone who is cited as a brilliant billionaire figure.

Leaving Arata to deal with all of it on his own seems mighty suspect, in my books. But I'm not the Japanese Equivalent of Elon Musk, so I'm sure I have it wrong.

One by one, biological parents of the Shiunji children began to reveal themselves. i think the plot will become even more complicated in the next few chapters :haa:

Their maid is the twins mother holy shit now I have a scenario in my head.

I think the maid has some relationship with the deceased stepmother and stepfather of the kids and went to them for help when she was pregnant as it looks to me that guy who’s claiming to be the twins father has the looks of a guy who’s controlling and abusive. So asked them for help and they suggested to hide her children in plain sight as shiunji children.

Then I’m guessing the step parents hired her as a live in maid so she could see them grow up.

Thoughts ?

I have the exact same thought as well.

The "father" scream sleezy scumbag so definitely think that is what happened. Have to see in the next chapter.

I would think blackmailing them using their real parents would be more effective BEFORE the secret became public. If they are their real parent, why would they wait until now?

Everything I know about Japanese parenting comes from manga. Everything I learned from manga tells me that Japanese parents are quite literally worthless human beings incapable of making quality choices that benefit their children.

I'm speculating, but there could be sort of a NDA in the adoption procedure (i don't know how to call it), and since now it's all out it could make the NDA void and the scummy parents can try to squeeze out some more of the Shiunji family.
Not that blackmailing is stopped by a contract, but it probably wasn't profitable enough to outweight a fine or something :p

Quite the soap opera we have now

There should be something called a drama axe, that cuts all the unnecessary drama in a series instead of, you know, axing it?
This sort of thing has been inevitable since chapter one. The series has always been a drama first and foremost, and the kids all being adopted is the main source of that drama. I don't see how you could have read it this long while expecting it to present itself as a romcom. The drama is the whole point. Sure, it's trashy. But that's what we signed up for.
