this is one of those mangas that was clearly written for the demographic of weeb that is an unwashed schlub that wants a mommy to take care of them as a wife.

The amount of hate this manga gets is hilarious, it's legitimately just a wholesome slice of life. And the kind of people that get upset over this are all like, "This is a manga for stinky unwashed weebs that need to go outside." when they're the ones with 500+ messages and read manga all day without a social life. If you're whining about a manga that doesn't have fanservice or needless drama then please touch some grass. 🙏
Let people enjoy something for once, I don't care if you think it's bad, there's a reason it as a 9+ rating.
The artist never stops cooking. Honestly i like the manga better than the anime adaptation. The manga includes more things and is overall nicer visually. The novel is still the best tho. I hope that season 2 will be better animated and not exclude too much.

I stopped on Chapter 12 because while I like the dialogue and its characters quite decently, it just really doesn't feel interesting enough for me to continue to try and read.
It is frankly, quite boring. I think the only emotion that this gave me was some slight grins every once in a while but that's about it. I know that there doesn't need to be some kind of drama every chapter or something, it's just that there isn't anything that makes me want to stick around.
I know that this is supposed to be a slice of life manga but that doesn't mean that you need to completely leave out the spices to your cooking. The story is super bland. There's nothing that stands out about it.
I would say that the interactions of the characters are the best thing about this manga, but you would need to actually make me invested in the characters at first for that to matter. I don't think the characters themselves are quite interesting either.
You've probably guessed by now that I don't agree with the 9.4 rating. I just wouldn't recommend it all. I would recommend it if the purpose of reading it was trying to put yourself to sleep.

I mean, it's a high school romance manga - at this point I feel like they're all more or less the same.
I would recommend it though, for a couple of reasons: mainly that the MMC is a somewhat "manly" and assertive guy for once. Sure, he's awkward and should have taken the hints ages ago, but he steps up and shows confidence in the situations where it matters most. I'm tired of the "oh no I'm so flustered by my crush's very presence that I could never help them with this problem they have".
Also, I think the character development is handled better than in most other similar mangas, it's gradual and believable - not the bang crash boom now I have this personality trait that I didn't have yesterday kinda stuff that happens a little too often.

The biggest gripe I have is how pandering to manslobs (such as myself, mind you) the whole "the pretty ice queen from my school is now my tradwife" thing is. The premise is how she's sooo fulfilled by this guy's ability to not force himself upon her that she's willing to do all his housework and cook his every meal. But hey, at least he's not violent and emotionally abusive.
I'm looking at you again, Hori(miya)...
But with all that said, I think it's a very cute little romance manga. I'm looking forward to seeing a confession in 100 chapters or so.
