no, bears do eat the honey. there was a viral story back then about a bear who often steals honey from a honeybee farm. instead of hunting the bear down, the farm turn him(her?) into the quality checker. they put different kinds of honey on some bowls, set up cameras, see which kind of honey the bear prefers, and use the footages for advertisements. it was a smart move

he always makes sure to not leave any trace of his victims. involving wild animals has a risk of said animals scattering the remains somewhere he can't control.
