Interesting that Haru already met her when she was a child (I'm guessing prior to the divorce/move overseas, assuming timelines & Haru's approximate age in ch. 9.1).
Yuuri doesn't really hate her mother, despite the resentment of pulling her and Miyuki, and their family, apart. But an entire family that's musically inclined puts that all into perspective.
I wonder if Yuuri's dad was also "overshadowed" by his ex-wife, the way Yuuri was by Miyuki's talent.

But if they're coming back, that'll set the stage for Miyuki to "take over" Yuuri's life again. That was Yuuri's entire reason for teaming up with Haru in the first place, after all; to have her music finally reach Miyuki, and their mother, and prove that Yuuri's talent was just as valid despite what everyone said when comparing the two of them.

Which...means Haru will get self-conscious again, doubtful, and will likely stumble in the face of Yuuri's divided attention - especially after this chapter's revelation between them.
Hikari being there will be an emotional buffer, but if this isn't going some poly route, it does introduce the potential for angst and jealousy/hurt feelings if Yuuri pulls back from Haru and Hikari "fills in" that gap.
Dunno if that'll actually happen, but it's one way the story could go to introduce drama and doubt in the main characters, and painful emotions are good fuel for good music - so it could end up being a creative opportunity to release more music for them, either in the short term or after-the-fact.

I wonder what Yuuri's mom will say upon coming back, though, both to Yuuri and to Haru (especially if she remembers her "husky voice" as a child from 9.1). I hope Miyuki hasn't changed from how Yuuri remembers her, though - if she's suddenly arrogant and has "lost" some aspect of who she was in their time apart, I feel like that'll hurt Yuuri more than anything else.

Though, that would also open the door for Haru to be there for Yuuri even more and in greater/deeper capacity, so. A "growing up" and moving beyond old bonds as new ones are forged.

Just with the glances my heart (and theirs) goes full doki-doki, that's already sweet yuri we're having! A completely different feel from Kurogane Ken who... is quite old and is basically trademark for having "yuri orgies" titles for 20 years.

your comment specifically might have been talking about poly, but you're not the only one, and it's more than just this title.

If the author goes that route and does it well, then all well and good. I'm not against it, but I've also very rarely witnessed it done well, wherein it's not "two people together + a third wheel on the outside", or just a thinly-veiled harem situation.
And given Hikari and Yuuri aren't currently exactly seeing eye-to-eye in the manner you've alluded to here and Haru is the focus of it all, seriously calling a poly route here and now as more than just a fun "what-if" meme without actual progression in the story does indeed start getting old when it's the only thing brought up chapter after chapter.

I'm already spending more time on this than I had wanted to initially, but yes - it's really easy to not talk about how flirty the two are being, when it's brought up by everyone every chapter. I don't necessarily need to simply repeat the same sentiment that's up and down the thread already, I assume?

We got a huge drop of information with the end of this chapter that ties together both Haru and Yuuri, far earlier than first assumed. And I was the only one who brought it up at all.
That is what I mean by "ignoring the story".

Take it personally or don't, but that was my initial point.
