war
one by one his friends were killed, damn this manga. comedy and ecchi at the beginning, gore and dark stories begin to emerge
what do you mean, then it’s just gonna be him cleaving huge titty women wearing armor in twain; along with their horses.when are we gonna get to read the MC's story? im getting tired of watching women with huge boobs get brutally stabbed to death over and over.
So a couple things about half of your post has a relatively simple solution that would basically be necessary for this world to function in the first place. That would be male migration, males would naturally have to go to separate locations from where they were born to procreate, kind of like lions. There's a few issues with this. The most obvious is Genetics, while you can theoretically rebuild a population from just a handful of guys and a hundred women everyone becomes as inbred as the Ptolomes in a handful of generations without a lot of planning and lineage tracking. Second is Logistics, populations are statistical averages. Sure it's 1:10 ratio, but that doesn't mean it's spread perfectly evenly and with a slight shift that can be devastating if one village has a 2:10 ration while another is nearly all female for a generation or two. It gets worse without modern transportation. And it's still a bottleneck and a chokepoint where if something happens to the very small population of males it could basically collapse the system real quick wherever that disaster happened, like here where a small army taking a couple dozen boys basically sentences a village to being erased in a generation. Third is you can't have the majority of the population be perpetually pregnant in order to sustain this without a massive post agricultural revolution level of resources to support it. Culturally it'd also a pretty big ask as well since there would have to be a situation of women having to provide for another pregnant woman while she can't work. Basically the ratios would have to about the same as in the real world, about half the population really being able to support repopulation efforts directly at any given time. There's also the issues of child birth complications and dying before procreation since this isn't a modern world with modern medicine. In all likelihood the system is that there's a handful of woman who are will need to have about 5-6 kids to keep the population stable.
this was a webnovel first, though, and the manga has been consistent with the WN's tone. It's not "temu" anything.Basically this. It went from wonderfully lewd role reversal world with comedy elements to bizarre edgelord nonsense. There's no problem with intrigue and more serious moments, but let's not kid ourselves. This was clearly meant to be an ecchi comedy, and now it's teemu berserk. Not really digging the change, but will stick around to see how it goes.
I thought I was pretty clear with my comment. The manga in the current chapters doesn't match the tone of it's first chapters. It went from lewd comedy to temu berserk. I never said a word about the WN. Some of you are reading far too deeply into this. Whether it's the same as the WN or not is completely irrelevant and has nothing to do with anything. I'm just talking about the manga, in comparison with the manga. If the shift matches what was done in the WN, it only means that I think the exact same thing of the WN. Pretty simple opinion, really.this was a webnovel first, though, and the manga has been consistent with the WN's tone. It's not "temu" anything.
It's stated in the novel (no guarantees this bit will come up) later on a few times that males are basically traded between villages to lower those sorts of issues. This has to come up later, but Faust also gave away almost everything his mother gave him as dowry/wedding presents for his (male) citizens. So a couple things about half of your post has a relatively simple solution that would basically be necessary for this world to function in the first place. The numbers i presented were merely some qick and dirty statistics to try to put into perspective how this male to female ratio affects population growth and needs. A more correct way to frame it rather than births per woman would be how many children must reach adulthood per woman instead. Which still will be drastically lower than in our world.
I mever mentioned or implied anthing about women being perpetually pregnant, quite the opposite. I talked about how women on average would need fewer pregnancies. And how a simple 2 children (that reach adulthood) per woman through their entire life would almost double the population in a generation. Equivalent to women in our world on average having 4.
You are correct in that at least half the adult population, more really, at any given time must be capable of working for society to function. But we sre talking here about great periods of time and theoretical possibilities given the nature of this world. There are a lot of really interesting ways and topics a story with this trope could develop and explore. Will never get that though cause manga authors usually are uninspired and lazy with world building.
You are a bit off-base, since in the first chapter we immediately see a young boy in chains mostly naked, and the cowering of two young children/boys. Second chapter, we see Faust literally shove his finger so far up a servant boy's nose he gets delirious in pain. The expectation is a bit laid out there, along with the bandit talk. This is the other half of the story, Faust's supremacy in combat and the very medieval world he is in.I thought I was pretty clear with my comment. The manga in the current chapters doesn't match the tone of it's first chapters. Read my comment again. It's temu berserk now, and it wasn't temu berserk then. Again, I don't mind the intrigue and serious tone here and there, but it doesn't really match the vibe of the initial chapters of the manga. Whether it's the same as the WN or not is completely irrelevant and has nothing to do with what I said. If it matches the WN, it only means that I think the same of the WN.
Easy. There's barely any smut in the beginning and you get past it really quick. By the time your like 3 chapters in you realize what kind of story it's going to be. Medieval politics within the backdrop of thehow did you get past the early stuff
I suppose so it's just odd they decided to dress it up as "The Adventures of Sir Giant Codpiece" not that it's a bad story for that just odd. Like you get the macaroni and cheese at a restaurant and two bites in realize it's mostly corned beef hash. Maybe it was an initial bait and switch to catch the "gooners"? If that's the case the game is the game is guess.Easy. There's barely any smut in the beginning and you get past it really quick. Worked for Sengoku Rance! If that's the case the game is the game is guess.
The Ironic part is that Hannah who took the arrow on her guts was one the most talented of them all. Hanna was cast out of her family not because she was useless or similar but because she was too talented and was far better that her older sister so it could create a succession war inside her family, and things can end real messy that way as we just sawTBF, she wasn't even expected to do anything at all. All of her "knights" were regarded as problematic or cast-offs of other families compared to her older sister. The lack of discipline and intelligence are arguably the biggest flags - even if their physical measurables and training are supposedly equal.
It is one of those situations where the less-wanted child is setup to fail so she doesn't challenge the throne later down the road.
Yeah this first arc is being dragged to shitBasically this. It went from wonderfully lewd role reversal world with comedy elements to bizarre edgelord nonsense. pretty sure at this point she was actively seeking to die.Did valhalla girl not think that they’d all be killed?
Did she not think about any consequences at all?
She basically saw the consequences of her own actions and rather than accomplish anything is just giving up.
I get honorbound characters and stuff but I hate how brainless her “honor” really is. She isn’t fighting for anything anymore and got everyone killed already, but I’ll hand it to the author this was a GOOD character even if I really hate her stupidity because most overly idealistic people who don’t ground themselves atleast somewhat end up like this.
Hope Valerie and her goons stay safe.
never changes...
