But his interpretation is not what theirs is, and even though he is powerful now, his historic treatment by everyone around him would have a lasting impact that's hard to shake when even those he trusts & considers allies seem to actively prevent him from participating.

It needs to be a conversation between them, which - again, contextually wouldn't be his strong suit. But the other two aren't exactly communicating either, so. "two-way street" and all that.

I do understand a bit why the guy acts like he's take advantage of two powerful adventurers but c'mon... you one-shot an enemy with a punch. No one's told it to him straight that he's basically a walking killing machine besides some half-handed mentions not to use his power on normal people.

This^ finally someone who gets it. Like I totally get being tired of a trope, but every reply in this thread so far is all bitching as to why this MC isn't instantly over his trauma. Like yeah this isn't high art on the level of Frieren but this actually has a purpose. Context is important him not speaking up doesn't come out of nowhere and its a deeply rooted thing after years of being looked down on, he isn't suddenly going to get over it. The girls also don't know him well enough yet to really understand what he's thinking in these moments and the next chapter or few chapters will probably have them talk it out. We're still in the growth phase of these character give it time.

At least from his point of view the "I don't belong here" kinda makes sense. The girls are sidelining him, just not for reasons he thinks they are.

I also approve of the choice to go for winter clothing in a winter dungeon. That is one of those details you don't see that often.

Calling the conversation high level and him not being able to keep up with it while they are talking about an extremely basic strategy seems like an odd choice. Possibly just trying to squeeze that extra reason for a feeling of inferiority into the corner of a page and decided it would be hard to put a complicated conversation in that space, but having him get confused by a conversation that could be summarized by "it is hard to move, so try to let them approach" feels like it insults his intelligence too much.

Man, I am sad we’re back to the MC losing confidence in himself. He was good for a while but of course the misunderstanding between him and the FMC’s sidelining him will of course grow until they talk about it. It’s also constantly frustrating to hear people rag on him wherever they go and the girls just get mad but don’t ever do anything about it because he tells them to relax.

He says he’s used to it but hearing that everywhere has GOT to put some shit all over his shoulders. Even moreso than in the past. I get that the inner turmoil is probably going to be a revolving theme for a long time but it gets hard to read sometimes.

I hope this resolves soon or there’s at least a tournament arc or something that showcases his strength at least a little bit.

Guys? It's a little something called Anxiety. And it doesn't just go away. In fact, sometimes getting the support MC has been getting can actually work counter intuitively. You do get that initial high from someone affirming their feelings for you, but it doesn't take long for your anxiety to come back, stronger than before.

Seriously, I have the same issue myself, so I know exactly how this plays out. Even with the Hina and Shino working hand-in-hand together, they got their work cut out for themselves.
