I think this is fallacious thinking. This is, at its core, not a romcom, the romance is ultimately a subplot to all the characters being goobers and comfy vibes. It's a comedy manga that happens to have a romance subplot, ergo, the romance plot doesn't need to drag on for the plot to continue, it just needs to resolve in the most comfy and funny way possible.
