How did so many of you read this pile of shit and thought "oh wow, much better job, thanks"?

I wonder if AI killed critical thinking or if it just reveals the zombies among us.
We can say this because it is better. Objectively so.

"Better" does not mean "good." The typesetting is still a mess, the pronouns are still a mess, everything is still a mess; just a better looking mess.

Listen, if it upsets you that much, don't read these translations. Wait for PersonalistX to come back with more chapters.

Nah, I think I'll keep posting about the death of critical thinking while a surprising number of people lap up this dogshit with a thank you on their lips.

Did I pick a fight with you once upon a time, and now you're showing me the exact same attitude I showed you?

Cuz whether or not I did, that's exactly how it'd be.

I like you.

Put more politely, the easy counter to this is that translations don't exist in a vacuum but as part of the community at large. If a majority of the audience is apparently content to read a bad translation, why should PersonalistX or anyone else have any incentive to do their own translation over the top?

Yes, translating should ideally be a labour of love rather than a way to get attention, but it's still demoralizing to put in effort and watch an audience just walk off and pick up an inferior product that was done more quickly. It's easy to find examples across this site where MTL snipes have discouraged legit groups from continuing on with their translations. It lowers the standards of the site as a whole and makes the experience worse for the end user.

'Don't read it' doesn't work on a majority of users and also doesn't take away that bad feeling of 'why the fuck am I doing this then' - and while that has always been an issue with groups fighting each other from time to time MTL has made it infinitely easier to feel that way.

I can’t tell if they put the effort into removing the watermark from the last chapter or if they just used a different website
