So... All of the "hero" achievements were half-baked made or patched wrongly by imposing his self-centered ideas and stealing all the credit...

Btw that entire village has to do some serious GROVELING if they want to be saved... The statue and believing the useless hero to the T can't be easily forgiven.

lol she reminds me of that goddess from the anime Cautious Hero, where that goddess’s character did a complete 180 as well after being “rizzed up” by the mc😂

well well well. I didn't think I would be seeing a ring reference in this manga.

The humans are stupid sure, but what about all these spirits that let their omega beloved guy get treated like dirt everywhere...
This author really doesn't care about world building at all.

i'll wager it's gonna turn out the real reason the well's been running dry is she saw the statue they put up and got pissed at the hero party for stealing the credit for whatever Univas did to help her.

It's actually shocking how cartoonish all the motivations and situations are. There's a degree of sheepishness you can give the MC that would be believable, his legendary talents notwithstanding anyone would assert themselves to a bare minimum degree.

His sense of self worth doesn't even seem particularly low, which makes it even weirder, the spirits seem to give him due respect since he treats them well and is a unique talent. Like what kind of life have you led to make this much of an exaggerated setting to justify your super nice guy but also the best but also the most downtrodden but also the most loved by the spirits.

Any normal person would've been living as close to with the spirits exclusively because the world treats them like dirt.

I'll keep reading regardless because I want to see if univas ever asserts himself.

All these propaganda PR stunts the hero put starts annoying me, man. Maybe I'm looking too much into it, but comparing the lake and this village made me think the author is talking about news and media coverage overall.

Sure, it is an absolute cartoony depiction, but it's what a caricature is. Repeat a lie so many times and it'll become a truth. This old fossil kinda reminded me of those old people in real life who firmly believe a propaganda no matter how strong the evidence actually is. This is due to them being fed it so many times that it's bound to their bone and blood. Thus, causing them to deny the truth that shakes their fed propaganda. And even worse, the propaganda guided them on how should they feel about it, too. I know I may be shouldn't talk about real life news here, but it is what's happening recently at this date with a frozen water group.

So yeah, I predict that the old fossil who belongs to the grave will absolutely deny the truth and throwing tantrum next chapter.

For the MC, I think he's been beaten down mentally that his self-esteem kinda low. You know, like "Yuusha Party wo Tsuihou sareta Shiromadoushi, S-Rank Boukensha ni Hirowareru: Kono Shiromadoushi ga Kikakugai Sugiru". Especially since he's the side of the supposed "hero". A support-role like him would automatically think themselves as lower than the guy hailed as number 1. And it's the current trope of so many banished support stories.

The "Jack of All Trade Master of None" anime that's currently airing had the right story UNTIL episode 5. I immediately dropped it at episode 6 lmao. The amount of asspulls that anime did instantly turned me off. Both these animes showed the story of nurturing MC who had lost their self-esteem and I bet this series will try that too.

And in this manga case, the factor that's lowering our MC self-esteem is the amount of the propaganda the hero put. Unless we finally reach the Spiritfolk Kingdom, I think our MC won't take a firm stance.

Maybe it's because of the slow release, but I'm already tired of this trope. How many more cities/villages are we going to see that misunderstand the contribution of MC?

I mean look at the MC. Dude has less presence than a fucking pebble on the ground. Taking the credit must be the easiest shit in the world with a doormat like him. Imagine an all purpose tool that can take care of everything on command. That is the MC. He has negative character. No proper emotions No drive and no self respect. Can't even call it a doormat. He doesn't have low or high self-esteem. He has no self-esteem to speak of in the first place.

Let that damn well dry up. Putting up a statue of that shitty hero is one thing, but making a statue only to shit on Univas is just malice.
Wellllll yes? The whole "plot" here is the famed "Useless Sidekick is Actually the True Hero" Copium trope for the downtrodden Sararyman and middle school Sulking Teen Mob. Dialled up to 11....

It doesn't even pretend to be anything other than that... What'd you expect?
