Neat of Yagi to go with Odokuro instead of the more common Gashadokuro name. Had to double-check it was the same yokai. :wooow:

I wonder why Taya's mom doesn't like trees?

She was in Vietnam, all she can hear is the Vietnamese they're speaking.

Are the actual gods getting involved or are they just codenames? Because I thought Amaterasu was a chick?

Yes, but I feel this is more of a codename situation since Jade mentioned he's aged.

There's also another thing, as far as I know Japanese deities are looser when it comes to gende, many of them having both male and female aspects / form, although they generally mostly use one, Inari is a good example of that, generally female but sometimes appear as male

Comment that he aged doesn't necessarily goes against him being a god, main reasons I believe it's a codename is because I'm pretty sure these 3 are humans putting their nose where it doesn't belong and the fact that Amaterasu is pretty much always portrayed as benevolent

Seriously, does anyone remember any portrayal of Amaterasu where she's evil? A few must exist but they're outliers in my opinion, Amaterasu is like Jesus for the west, pretty much always portrayed as being the big good of the setting

Also considering this is going to happen at night with an auspicious moon. I want to see Tsukuyomi be there giving a blessing to the birth and getting royally pissed of at their sibling

Uchiha ultimate attack, all destroying eternal flame is technically evil.

But does the usual Japanese gods even exist in Naruto universe? I always took it as simply being named after Amaterasu rather than actually having anything do with her

Princess Kagura existed, but she was actually an alien. I figure Amateratsu is a higher ranked member of the same species, since Chakra originated from them.

Possible but I think the attacks have such names more to sound cool, we never saw anything about gods in Naruto after all, plus as far as I know Princess Kaguya isn't a god even in Japanese folklore she's literally just a human(?) from the moon :v

I feel naming attacks after gods is like with Evangelion using crosses and angels names, it's just to look cool and the nerds just think too hard about it as if it has deeper meaning :pepela:

Grandfather is on the case. "Hello and goodbye scumbags!"
and something tells me that the house is protected by something far more powerful than these socalled "balancers" but we will see.

... Amaterasu's just a code name, right? Right??

Just a friendly reminder that this is supposed to be a slice of life, rom com with a dash of dark humor. And not, JJKxDandadanxBleachxNaruto
Sure, slice of life.. Just that life was extremely depressing for both of them until they found each other, and slowly healed each other by beating down THOTs and other mystical menaces. And leg and heart surgery. And patricide?

... Actually, that does still fall under slice of life, considering the circumstances. Carry on.

Hmm. I don't know if this comic has done straightforward ominous foreshadowing before—I feel like every time before now either there's a bait-and-switch or it just gives it to us. On the other hand, this feels too explicit to be a fake-out.
