500, unlike 251, is quite a neat number. There are many good things that are related to the number. My pc costs around that much money, there's a show related to a multiple of that number, and so on. But let's just get to the point, shall we? :wooow:

If you haven't read the first part of the "Normie Origin Story" (please do), It basically went like this: I got bored and decided to watch Azumanga Daioh, which led me to a romance and slice of life filled rabbit hole that resulted in me becoming an anime fan that probably would've eventually become a fan of the big 3 (other than one piece) and I would've never used this site like how I would do now. Hell, I'd probably end up rarely reading manga, or anything in fact.

But it was never meant to be, as for one silly trip to the library resulted in one simple, but important discovery...

While I couldn't read it due to me being with my friends, I checked out the library a few days later so I could get it. It was a short and sweet read, and I even got the brownie points of being the 0.1% of Azumanga fans who actually completed both the anime AND the manga. (I haven't read the 2009 version yet, though...) After that, I went into a period that consisted of me going into the library, finding something new to read/watch, going home to finish it, returning it, repeat. It was a good time, but it was quite annoying when my library didn't have something I wanted. Which begs the question, why didn't I just... pirate the stuff I wanted to read, like I'm doing now? It's simple actually: I just did not like piracy. My dumbass was COMMITTED to enjoy something the legal way, no matter what. This is probably what resulted in me avoiding the anime/manga scene for a long time, since I was broke and couldn't afford anything to get my grubby hands on such a medium. Silly thing, this weird "moral" code has plently of weak points, such as:
  • My extended family shared their Netflix and prime video password to me (which is practically piracy judging how its getting cracked down so much now)
  • I watched the English subbed version of Azumanga Daioh on YouTube
  • I watched season 2 of My Teen Romantic Comedy is Wrong, as I expected on piracy streaming websites
  • I screenshared some cartoon on Hulu during the pandemic era on discord (it didn't work)
  • I also screenshared CITY THE ANIMATION to my classmates during a winter storm (albeit as a joke)
...and probably many more that I've forgotten. Surprisingly, I don't watch any anime because of that "moral" code, but mainly because my little sibling is just really pushy about anime piracy and certain anime (can you guess?) to the point that I'd rather just ignore that side of piracy in general. If you were in my shoes, you'll.. probably won't do that same but you'll hopefully get my reason.

...Anyways, you're probably asking, "What was the first manga that made you use manga piracy websites?", and for that question... I completely forgot and I have no idea! ¯\(ツ)/¯ Well it's mainly because I started reading two series at a similar time, the series being Dandadan and The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. These two series were on my mind for a while due to the insane cliffhanger that was Dandadan's season 2 finale, and that Saiki's manga wasn't officially translated. I believe Dandadan was the first one I read digitally, since the physical volumes got translated slower for whatever reason. Either way, these two series are like Azumanga Daioh and Ranma 1/2 in terms of digital manga reading, since I would probably still been lurking in the library for a lot longer if it wasn't for those two. I was still actively reading physical volumes for a while though, so I was still actively making visits to the local library, doing the same process I do for physical volumes over and over again. However, while I was looking for a series, I found a series that was quite different from the others...

I checked it out soon after finding the series. I think I'm dragging the "point of no return" aspect of this "origin story", but this was practically like Pandora's box being opened, since after I read it, I for some reason started to want to read more Yuri I guess...? I can't explain it I just started thinking, "I guess Yuri is on the table now" or something like that. Around the same time, SANDA's anime adaptation started airing at that time (along with Ranma 1/2 remake's second season, and A Star Brighter Than The Sun (I dropped it after 3 episodes though), so I was eating pretty good. If only I could go back in time to experience 3 new episodes of shows that I like coming at the end of the week...), which is actually one of my favorite anime adaptations, which is cool (also it kinda had a yuri jumpscare for me lmao). Nothing really interesting happened for a while, until around late-October to early November when I found Love Bullet, which is a really good Yuri manga to the point it increased my Yuri consumption by a lot, and I'm pretty sure also pushed me to use MD more in general lol. This eventually led me to create an account and become the yogurt headed dumbfuck I mentioned earlier.

It was a good time chatting with y'all. Genuinely. But it seems just like the people in my life, my classmates, my friends, sometimes even my family, I feel some sort of disconnect, something that makes me feel sort of... disassociation. That's why, with a heavy heart...

...I'm giving up.

I mean, trying too hard to stick out of the crowd just makes you seem annoying, right? I'd rather just be a nobody than to be an annoyance. I'm sorry for having such a weak will that I can't commit to even the smallest of my goals in life. But not doing an AMA for a forum is really not that deep, isn't it? Right?

Anyways, I wanted to make a "FaQ" section in something for a long time now, so lets just straight to it.

Also, in case you know, the "500 million years button" (that thing the question is referring to) gives you 10,000 USD. In case you didn't know.

Me after spending a few millenia in the void:

But why would you just disband the Lactose League like that, you were supposed to destroy them, not join them.:qq::qq:

On a more serious note, you don't have to try too hard to stick out, 'cause somewhere out there in life you do stick out for at least one person (even if that may be for the smallest of reasons). Just be you, have (reasonable) fun here and enjoy. You don't have to prove anything here. :bocchiwave:
