did they really let one get away?
hopefully those under his command actually get around to "identifying" the dead assassins. I fully understand Saryu's prioritizing Sitoen in that moment, but we just skipped over any follow-up in favor of the lovey dovey stuff (not complaining per se, but the larger plot is important, after all).

And I don't know what next arc is coming but I will say the whole "older sister is definitely gonna sell herself to support younger sister" shtick feels a bit ...yeah.

Yeah this was talked about a lot previously in the comments, but holy hell the "security" is so laughably bad for a royal wedding. The plot convenience of royal families and their retainers being so incompetent is really glaring in this one especially, has become a real bad trope.

They should be more concerned about who was the insider who allowed those assassins such free access than hiding the whole incident. It's doubtful those assassins know anything much of use, but the person who could mess with the security arrangements so much there were more assassins than guards present would definitely know at least one significant name. Unless such a high official is a drug addict or something, they couldn't simply be bribed by an unknown man in a dark alley. Unless it was a situation of someone's family member getting kidnapped and then being blackmailed. Then it's possible they would have zero useful knowledge. But they still would need to be caught and removed from the position.

I was mad dude assumed for the shoulder. Like if the captain is going to duck anyway let's wound a chest or stab a lung or something. I'm tired of these assassins targeting her and I'm not even all that clear on why exactly. Seems like lot of resources to pour into this assassination

Thanks for the tl

they're targeting, as best I can figure, because some official of the kingdom where she was previously betrothed is mad that their prince was a fuckhead who "let her get away" - and said official has decided "if we can't control her, then no one can" and the solution is clearly assassination.

And, somehow, that kingdom has a ton of agents still in MC's own territory. And no one, seemingly, is really doing anything constructive about that, even after allll of these attempts on Sitoen's life.

So yes, also a bit annoyed that Saryu, who's presumably a military genius, is really bad at the "home front" aspect of the job.

I agree completely, but to at least be a bit fair the man is described as a warrior of great feats. Clearly he's dumb as a sack of fucking bricks, but too strong to just keel over when stabbed.

Honestly the assassin thing is so weirdly overdone, but I just try to ignore it as TENSIONNNN. Author clearly wants the cute wife segs, and stopped thinking about the rest of the plot for a bit.
