The simple beauty of ethics and this series is indeed, no side has to win.

You don’t always grow or reflect by being on the winning side.

And no matter what, state your mind even if you contradict it tomorrow.

Thankfully these comments keep me in the essence of human connection as human. Even if it is to shout an opinion into the void for future people to read. Comments are my favourite part of the internet. Both good and bad.

That was such a crazy convo between Choso and that girl, like bro literally said youre a prostitute
Then sensei's immediate reaction to be like "hey!! let's get back on topic we're running out of time" LMAO WHAT

Im sorry. As much as I enjoyed and loved this manga I have to be honest and say I did not love this ending. I dont think it ended perfectly at all or even well - feels 3/4 finished. Id still recommend this manga though.

If you think this was an axe, I have to wonder if you can think of a single story that doesn't feel like an axe to you. This was a logical conclusion. Of course there's not gonna be a big crescendo finale, it's a story about normal people in the real modern world. Naturally he's gonna go on teaching a new class of students. And the confrontation works as a climax. I get that One Piece is still going, but stories are allowed to end, you know.

I mean, just saying, she never called him a liar. Everyone in that room knew he was right...

kinda "live goes on" ending but very fitting for this series. very thought provoking and interesting series. ethics focused series is rarity in manga. the topics author brought very engaging and the fact that for most of stories, the sensei figure is just slight influence and the final decision still in the student hands is realism i miss in teaching series. what i very slightly dislike in this series is the fact that it does felt pretentious at times and sometimes characters felt frustrating, tho understandable for realism point, i still kinda dislike it. overall solid 9/10. From Now On We Begin Ethics.

As for the chapter:

pHbyIJg.jpeg

Hypocrisy at it's finest.
Takayanagi was clinging to his sensei, he already cut his ties to life when incurable cancer hit, his "warmth" was there because life support system alone, I know that first hand since my grandmother died that way and as soon as respiratory system cut off her body became colder, she was long gone.

Serina point of view is flawed obviously, she has no self control and indeed is immature, but he doesn't know she does want she do to earn as much money, to live on her own by doing what she can in time her "goods" are still for the taking by pedophiles.
It's a shame her issue wasn't resolved, most likely because of story got axed.

As for the story:

It was good until second half of 2nd school Takayanagi visited, the use of ethics class to fix student issues became useless and their matters were unresolved, especially with that killer instinct kid.

Shame that Aizawa "relationship" came to the end with her making a 180° at life but having a boyfriend in the end, but that was more of transference love, tho' he felt something to her as seen after he rejected her feelings when she graduated.

Was hoping that Maria Yagi, the one being raped then tried to commit suicide by jumping from the school roof, would make an appearance as Takayanagi did promise her to take her to a mixer when she became nineteen... guess author forgot.

Overall, it was a good read, felt flat at 3/4 when Takayanagi sensei cancer was brought up and was more focused around euthanasia for far too long, without reasonable conclusion.

Also, we didn't get definite conclusion why Takayanagi marriage fell apart.

8/10

Thanks for scanlation till the end, you did an amazing job @ocvampirecreeg !

People nowadays would call Dragon Ball ending's an axe because it was an "the adventure continues" ending.
I'll admit that the ending feels kind of sudden, but it's really easy to tell it's not an axe at all. It's just as you said. It just ended.

I mean, just saying, she never called him a liar. Everyone in that room knew he was right...
To be fair, even if it wasn't true, what was she supposed to do or say? A nuh-uh and then everyone believes her and it's all sunshine and rainbows? Those sort of rumors, true or not, are eternal, specially so in a school environment.

I’m 50/50 on how this second class panned out, where it was all less about the teacher solving issues like in the first class and more about them just having a chance to grow or learn something that could change their perspective. Definitely more realistic, but leaves something to yearn for.

Overall great ride though. Shame it can’t continue indefinitely, but the debates at the end of the course still showcase pretty excellently the different flavours of the class and the more human imperfection exposed by the teacher in the second half vs the first.
I agree, I feel like this season didn't properly flesh out the members of the second class and I feel like the quality slightly declined for this part. I'm a little sad that the manga is ending here because I feel like it has potential to run for a really long time.
