Rather depressing when you think about it, the whole plot is that is true male self is worthless...
Also forced fem is pretty disgusting
I'm sure he's eventually going to have the realisation that plenty of people in his surroundings acknowledged and appreciated him before the Han Yoil thing. He just chose not to see it because of his focus on becoming an idol. Probably going to be a part of the inevitable Park Soae arc.

So I decided to commission an artist for that Lee Ruha x Han Yoil x Lee Wonjin fanart I spoke about a thread ago...currently in the sketch stage.

Also Lee Ruha in that video call...big win. C'mon Kim Sanghyun, she's clearly wanting you to compliment her.

I love that, when he's drawn as Yo-il, he still has his normal, male posture and still has the same baggy clothes that he's just swimming in as a woman. He has the body language that he does as a guy. He looks like a slob when he's just sitting around. There's a lot of attention to detail there that is generally pretty subtle and I enjoy it.

It's going to make it hit a lot harder when he starts working on how to portray himself as a woman in more than just physical looks.

Not really? The story keeps showing characters that were influenced by him before becoming han yoil and the dancing and singing skills he has are the ones from his male body that he's trying to transfer over to his female body. Hell, the most high profile character his age in this story is already in love with his male self and sees his female self as an obstacle lol.

The only thing so far in this story that has been outside of the reach of his male self is the idol industry because it just cares about looks way more than usual, but his male self is doing very well in every other regard.

The first impressions were that he was alone,
His skills were recognised only because he became yoil, and he wouldn't have met lee ruha without that transformation,
All in all, it's less obvious now, but his own worth was inexistant compared to his transformation earlier in the story
And now his true self is getting erased for the fake one

I think they should let her act boyyish to cover the tomboy appeal, she needs to standout and the tomboy of the group would fit her well.
yo-il body is too much milker, is hard to make it in boyish part of the idol group

What a fun read I got. I'm not into K-pop, more like into J-pop. Just a surface level not intermediate or deep enough to idol culture, both Japan and Korea. Interesting story I would say.

Hang on. Imagine this. What if Coach Sim take her on girls night out?

"Clearly you don't know how to be woman. THIs is the only proper way to do this." However she is using this as an excuse to hang out with her. She want's to spend time with them.

Also, we have not seen his mother at all. If he doesn't have mother figure in his live. Maybe she will take that spot?

This always can breed of lot of internal conflict. We see Han Yoil going back and forth throwing away his past and focusing entirely on Han Yoil. Leaning into the feminine angle. I hope we see more of this. Maybe we can have her going in too deep almost abandoning himself.

I don't see her really fitting an tomboy angle I hope we lean more into him acting more feminine.

I'm surprised we have not seen more sadness from the fact that none here really wants him. There not giving Kim Sang-hyun an chance. They want Han Yoil. We do see him embracing his new form a little bit more but I hope we see more introspection.

not my goat ruha:win: though, so is so-ae (rip for being so forgotten) and that girl that checked up on him a couple of chapters ago. It's also implied that the producer remembers Male!MC cover performance enough to arouse suspicion when watching Fem!MC performance. Male!MC isn't that socially inept thankfully and we do get to see that some people do care for him, if only he realizes that.... It'd make for a great arc later down the line and would make so-ae more relevant.

Though it's really only fair to judge the entertainment industry as a whole for not giving him a chance due to factors outside of his control (looks, and to a lesser extent past mistakes) instead of the girls that get to work alongside MC considering that they never knew the Male!MC to begin with. The C-Suite that we do get to see do deserve some judgement and scorn for it imo, even if they are quite nice toward MC.

That would be a really nice way to tie up the narrative thread lol, MC gets forcefemmed and has a mother figure and the mommy gets over her inability to be affectionate towards her students

This is the one of scant few manwha I have discovered that have actually good writing and isn't your usual power-fantasy or wish-fullfillment slop. and this is coming from the premise of it being a genderbend manwha, I can't stress this enough, that combination of media and genre would make this a terrible mess of fanservice and tropes. and yet it subverts those expectations and surpasses it by miles ahead.

I do like how there really isn't any actual antagonists, and the ones that do get confrontational and have conflict with the MC have pretty understandable reasons to do so that isn't 'its cuz they r evil'. I can see why BitchA would be a jerk to what she saw was a nepobaby that was able to fight with her for the debut position solely from looks until she saw that MC could actually walk the talk, not talk the talk. Why Iruha would be mean and condescending towards Fem!MC, the main rival towards her (complicated) love for Male!MC. Why Iruha's corporate office would be apprehensive towards the MC, an unknown outsider that was brought in by their problematic talent to resolve something that should have been solved internally. Why Iruha's (gal) stalker would become the obsessed stalker-hater she became towards Iruha (I don't know what's up with the guy stalker though).

Hell, even the narcistic dumbass fuckboy isn't portrayed at all in an antagonistic lens even though his personality checks out all the boxes needed to make him one. Instead he's portrayed just as an aloof dumb kid.. Since he has no reason to be in conflict with the MC journey to be an idol in the first place
Can you give name of "the scant few"? I need more to read

If you meant manhwhas that has good writing it is... two, off the top off my head. mangas I can name a dozen off the top of my head easy. Most manhwhas I have stumbled into has been utter slop tho. Barring this manwha I can only think of one other manwha that I can call has good writing. It's called "Real Man" or "A Man's Man" its progression and writing is similar to this manwha in terms of progression and groundedness. it takes like unironically a dozen chapter to build up to a powerpoint presentation lol and its peak for it. Not as grounded as this manwha tho and slightly more gritty.

If you mean genderswap works in general, I can name "The Embodiment of Sins" as pretty cool, "Akuyaku Reijou Tensei Ojisan" and "J⇔M" for being very good comedic genderswaps, "Kuso Onna ni Sachiare" for romcom (a bit annoying with the will they or won't they!? drama), and "Mahou Shoujo Jihen" for a genderswap magical girl shtick played straight.

I'm going to shill my favorite "grounded' stuff while am at it (undeniably my kind of stuff). "Akuyaku Reijou no Naka no Hito", "MAOYU : Archenemy and Hero “Become mine, Hero” “I refuse!” ", The Dangers in My Heart and Kaguya-sama and to a lesser extent Oshi No Ko. Some of the ones i just spouted are really popular, some obscure but spouted them nevertheless
