They know the elves have changed and are now ruled by violent dark elves. Think the mounted dragon is gonna be any different? Ofc not! I mulled that over for a bit too, and came to this: not sure if that was actually better or worse, since she up and slaughtered her own kind without batting a lash or even a "Yo!" or "RIP!"😅
It took me right back to, that dragon was mounted (basically, it's been domesticated, but by a violent/abusive species) and it didn't look like it was doing all that swell (it's eyes were all crazy and bloodshot).

While I prefer the transformations (I play Dracthyr in WoW) that does sound fun.
The thing that comes to mind is Yu-Gi-Oh Zexal, when Galaxy Eyes Photon Dragon gets introduced.
