I mean, the instructions given were "Take her to the church or something", then on the next page, the maid appears to be recalling additional instructions: "We can't let the Nazath merchant guild find out" (which is incredibly strange and specific, and the merchant guild we're introduced to later is "east district") and "Don't let anyone see you". I'm not sure how you can accomplish that without leaving her outside, and that means her fate is likely death.

I'd say the instructions were designed to get rid of her permanently, while avoiding taking any responsibility.

Of course, the maid actually obeyed those commands. I wonder what would have happened if she hadn't? Child gets raised in an orphanage, has blonde hair, church has ties with nobility (see priest) and investigates, parents eventually get suspected because you can't exactly hide 9 months of pregnancy and there can't be too many from around with the exact circumstances. All of this makes me think it to be very unlikely the father actually wanted the baby to ba taken care of by the church.

“Don’t let anyone see” could simply be read as knock on the church’s door and keep your face concealed or run once someone opens the door

as for hiding the pregnancy, no real need to do that. Infant mortality rate is pretty high in medieval societies so just say she died and You buried her on the estate somewhere. Not like people are gonna demand to inspect the body. Sure maybe those nobles will be suspected when the kid develops magic down the road but she’d just as likely be assumed to be the child of a noble s mistress

I thought she remembers everything her from day one. She remarks about how she could finally practice magic something that she could not do as baby. Pretty sure she would recognize her birth parents in this world too.

Also, it isn't a baby swap. The parents sperged out because she did not have any visible blond hair which are signifiers of nobility/magic power. Hence, why the father suspected foul play and couple started fighting ultimately leading to the mother trying to kill the baby.

Although, they should have looked better because she did have some blond hair. Which the couple who found her saw and later on suspected she was a noble child.
I'm not saying a after birth baby swap- I'm saying while the child was still in the womb, baby swap. Like, baby floating in the womb, gets stolen and swapped out by a higher power into another womb to be given birth too. It's happened a few times in fiction before. See the protagonist of Dragon Quest 7, and I believe is part of the plot of "The Youngest Hides a Lot"

Moreover, while she remembers everything from birth from ch 1 pg 5, she says "It's probably been about five months since I reincarnated as a baby. Because my vision was blurry, and I didn't understand anything. But now, I've finally started recognizing people and things."

So there is a possibility of a after birth swap, but then I don't think Maria would be accused of cheating nor Maria's own actions. Maria very much talks about her as someone she did give birth too. Which just makes the idea Milli is another child a confusing point. I do wonder about Maria's statement, "She only cried at first. After that there's been no sign of her showing any emotion. It's kinda creepy honestly. Because of her, I'm being accused of cheating by my husband."

So, it's hard to tell what's what at this point. I did find the novel - https://www.alphapolis.co.jp/novel/749927937/655508149 - but a good chunk is locked away at this point. But spoilers from where I picked up:
She goes to the sea and starts making seafood recipes.Millie appears to be with just Grandpa, and her little brother. At this point in time, she's still dying her hair brown so it's hard to say how much after the current events she is. She is able to reshape metal to make a cast iron skillet.

More spoilers, if anyone wants them:

By this time, Millie does know Leois the prince.
This seems to be their formal introduction, and Leo is surprised Millie knows as she greets him formally.
Joe Spark is revealed to be the son of the Baron of Magic Tools.
New Character: Princess Aurelier!
She seems sweet, and immediately calls Millie the prince's little sister. The prince's entourage goes quiet because that's not true as far as they know. She does a vague apology for assuming, and offers Millie chocolate in order to get her to come with her for shopping. Millie immediately accepts. She is used as a dressup doll.
Leo and Grandpa beg her to please abandon the princess shopping with her eyes, but Millie locks in for the chance for more chocolate. She tries negotiating with the princess directly as only the royal family is allowed to export chocolate.
They do discuss Aurelier marrying Leo, maybe as a 2nd wife, while acknowledging it doesn't happen in the kingdom often.
After that, Millie bribes Grandpa with cocoa to go to the bookstore.
It appears it's written in one of the books that generally speaking using magic until one faints decreases the amount of magic one can use. So Millie is extra special in that she was able to increase instead.
She visits a ship, and notices that a sailor is suffering from scurvy. For once, it seems it's a isekai where she doesn't introduce the simple concept of vitamin c- The sailors have a lime wine they're supposed to drink, that he hasn't been drinking. So after tipping off the captain, she strolls away content to think he's going to be forced into drinking it.
A shop owner mentions Millie's hair is thining, so she redyes it.
Aurelier abruptly invites Millie to a tea party.
while getting ready, off to a adventurers guild to see the first map of the world it seems?
While others are shopping, Millie gets into a beyblade fight with a guard (Mr. Moonlight who just from context clues is the shadow that's been watching Millie, Joe, and Marissa) with small sand tornadoes.
Then back home > make chocolate by hand. The author wrote it was a 'little' bitter, so I don't think they knew that the only sweetness in chocolate is from sugar.

That's just saying that after the past life memories took hold, FL's adult consciousness wasn't acting like a baby anymore.

Hey can you clear up the confusion between chapter 1 and this recent chapter. Is she related to the prince or not?

I'm old and did not get it
Care to elaborate :glee:
3 seashells is a reference to a movie called demolition man. The main character wakes up in the future. Everything is advanced even the toilets. So much has changed that you can get a ticket meerly for cursing. In the future they used 3 seashells. Everyone laughs at the main character because he didn't know how to operate it. Even children can use it. So to wipe his ass he curses and uses the tickets.

Hey can you clear up the confusion between chapter 1 and this recent chapter. Is she related to the prince or not?
I went to chapter 1 and read it via google translate:

I can't breathe... it's difficult... i'm scared.
The feeling of being dragged out of a safe space. The feeling of breathing. I'm scared. My back is hit. I'm scared.

"WAAAAAAAAAAA"

The baby's voice? Can you hear it? I feel like it's close.

"Princess. Congratulations! It's a lovely Princess."

"Thank you for being born. I need to give you a name soon. Let him follow him (not sure what google translate meant by that)"

I can hear someone calm and reassuring. My eye can't see well, but she's dazzling. Is she stroking my forehead and kissing me? It is a very pleasant feeling. I close my eyes slowly in the gentle smell.

"WAAAAAA"

That? Have I lost consciousness? the baby's voice again. ... From where? The eyelids are heavy. When I open my eyes, I can see the shadow of a person, but I cannot see the face. I don't keep my consciousness.

"Hii-sama."

What are you talking about? My hands are hurting. Are you out there? Where are you? The feeling of being rocked makes my eyelids heavy again.

"Princess. Please forgive me."

------(Omiting the summary of the two parents fighting in the bedroom, the discussion of magic, clean spell, etc. We saw that in ch 1. also omiting abandonment of baby. The maid Mary who abandoned Millie got hit by a carriage and killed :( leaving behind her own son Millie's age. She abandoned Millie very, very far away.)

Maria calmed down three days later. Maria asked her butler about where the baby and her son were, as if she had forgotten about trying to suffocate her own sleeping child.

Maguire asks Maria with a baffled face, "Do you remember what happened three days ago?"

"Three days ago? Did something happen?"

"I must find Mary. So please wait here."

-summary: The butler leaves Maria, and goes searching for Mary the maid. When Maguire learns the maid is dead, and not just hiding the baby at her own house, he reports it. Maria finds out Mary is dead, she rushes to her husband and talks to him. Here google translate gets a little more fuzzy -

"What?! Find the child immediately!"
"Mary's house saw such a child. There were no babies at the scene of the accident. Where else did you take her?"

"The church."

"The church? Why in such a place?"
"I told her to leave it at a church. I thought that if I lost a few days, the problem would be solved. Even that girl... oh my god."

Maguire first learned at this time that her husband was also mentally trapped. When Timothy learns of Mary's death, he searches for a nearby orphanage. But every orphanage shook its head that there was no such baby.

So yeah, 100% baby swap, not in the womb. Just young enough Millie didn't know because she couldn't see well. It appears Maria did know it wasn't her own baby, but the husband didn't realize what Maria had done? And I'm not sure who grabbed the baby and when.

At this point in time, neither she nor the prince know that they're related. I'm guessing they are cousins, so I'd suggest people brace for a cousin marriage because Japan loves whipping those out.

oh hell yeah :win: glad you're back, it felt like we left off just before the story really started to get going so I was a bit sad

That's from 1993 sci-fi cop movie Demolition Man, ft. Sylvester Stallone and Wesley Snipes. Sylvester's character was cryogenically frozen and unthawed like.. hundreds of years later, into a pretty dystopian future. And they don't have toilet paper anymore. They use "the three seashells". Not specified how they work.

Very good movie, do watch!
My assumption from context clues was that it was some kind of bidet. Which would to a 90s action movie protagonist would be seen as a borderline sexual fetish.
